2015 BMW M235i

I spent a week up in New Jersey last week for a meeting with the folks at my day job and one colleague mentioned he just purchased a new BMW 228i. To be honest, I haven’t given much thought to the 2 series of late, but after revisiting this new model, I’m liking it more and more. A big part of the attraction is that it is one of the last BMWs you can purchase new with a manual gearbox. Second, I like the size of this two-door. The 4 series, while well proportioned, has gotten a bit large for my tastes. The 1 series coupe was a bit too small to pull off the coupe look. The 2 series sits in between these cars in size and looks just right.

One-owner 1993 Porsche 928GTS with 8,600 miles

Anyone well familiar with the collector Porsche market undoubtedly knows that a lot of the demand that has been responsible for recent price increases comes from Germany. Over the past few years, many of the nicest concours condition examples of 928’s for sale in the U.S. have been purchased by German collectors. The rationale is that it is much harder to find an immaculate example in Europe, as fewer were sold there and therefore fewer collector quality cars with low mileage exist in that market.

Well, this is one of the few European 928 GTS’s that would certainly appear to qualify as a “concoursable” car. With approximately 8,600 miles, this GTS is one of the lowest mileage example’s I’ve seen for sale since I began following the 928 market eight years ago. In addition, I’d imagine that being a single owner German spec car will make this example particularly attractive to German collectors.

2006 Mercedes-Benz R500 4Matic

I tend to buy cars for two reasons: speed and looks. Then again, I’m a single man in my thirties. I don’t have many requirements to take into consideration when purchasing a vehicle. This would render the Mercedes-Benz R-Class as a vehicle completely off my radar. For some reason, however, I’m drawn a bit to this multi-purpose vehicle. They didn’t sell too well in the US market, perhaps due to the fact it wasn’t easily categorized. It wasn’t an SUV, wasn’t really an estate vehicle and didn’t function as a van, either. It was a bit of a hybrid of all three. AMG even breathed on a select few, making for one seriously fast hauler. This R500 4Matic for sale in Florida is one packing the familiar 5.0 liter V8 under the hood and has yet to break 50,000 miles. If you missed your chance at one of these new, you can get a serious discount on them today.
