It’s Um… Er Convertible Season, Low Mileage 1993 Porsche 968 Cab For Sale

One of the things that I am noticing the older I get is that I am, well, cheap.  It’s not that I don’t appreciate quality, I do to no end.  It is I will through ungodly amounts of trouble to save a buck.  If that means buying something off season on the cheap so be it.

Case in point, soft top values are squishy now.  This happens every year, the holidays have come and gone and warmer weather is a bit off.  I purchased a ’02 Audi TT Quattro today, which makes no sense as I am at least 90 days from something that resembles top down weather.  But I purchased it for 20% less than I would in the middle of summer.

Yep, I am cheap!  Here is another great car to spend your summer with.

1993 Porsche 968 Cabriolet For Sale:

From the seller –

“1993 PORSCHE 968 CABRIOLET – 6 speed – LOW MILEAGE 51,060 – Garaged ARIZONA Car

This auction is for a 1993 PORSCHE 968 CABRIOLET, convertible, 6 speed with low mileage. This ARIZONA car has been garaged and taken care of.

According to the Porsche 968 Register website (the following information was taken from their website): There were approximately 2000 cabriolets and 2000 coupes imported to the United States between 1992 and 1995.

The 968 was Porsche’s last new front-engined vehicle before the introduction of the Cayenne SUV in 2003. It was sold alongside the 928 GTS through 1995 when both models were dropped. As of 2006, Porsche has not yet built another front-engined sports car.

When I first saw this car I was certain it was a tip which is a deal killer but was pleasantly surprised to see it is a manual.  There is some good, low miles, records, and a newer top.  Some bad including some road rash, it’s due for belts and a water pump, and it may need new tires.  Nothing tragic there but adjust your pricing accordingly.

Bidding currently sits at nearly $10k with the reserve not met.  I would be comfortable going up to $12.5k on this car given the work it may need upon arrival.  Either way it is a beautiful car and deserves to go to a good home.
