Not a day goes by that I don’t consider selling my 2006 MINI Cooper S for a clean, lower mileage Porsche 944. It probably wouldn’t be the wisest financial decision I ever made, but every time I see one of these coupes from the 1980s with their wide fenders, funky wheels and pop-up headlamps I get the urge to pull the trigger. This 1983 944 for sale in Massachusetts is equipped with the base 2.5 liter engine, 5-speed manual and has just over 50,000 miles on the clock. Is there honestly a better way to relive your 1980s automotive fantasies for under $10,000?

Having just embarked on a summer road trip, my thoughts wandered while driving towards fuel economy. My MINI Cooper S certainly does well enough, but sometimes you want something a bit more suited for cruising. Which is where this Mercedes-Benz 300TD comes in. It’s not the fastest car out there, but once up to cruising speed, it’s a capable motor with the range and reliability of diesel power and a good amount of carrying capacity. This particular 300TD for sale in California has been converted to run on biodiesel and is a two owner car, having lived its live out in the western US.

1 CommentThe 930 has always possessed its own ’80s flare that few other cars can eclipse. Make that 930 a Cabriolet, cloak it in metallic paint and give it a nearly white interior and now we’re really talking ’80s. Lately we haven’t seen nearly as many 930 Cabriolets come up for sale relative to the Coupe so when we do come across one it always grabs our attention. The case is no different with this eye-catching Platinum Metallic 1983 Porsche 930 Cabriolet, located in Colorado, with Parchment leather interior and 87,898 miles. Like a few of the recent 930s we’ve featured here at GCFSB this one is a RoW 930 as the 930 was unavailable in the US market during this time.
