The Mercedes-Benz SLK usually doesn’t get a lot of love from enthusiasts and I totally understand why. The first generation was a competition with the BMW…

Last week I looked at a low mileage 1991 560SEC and explained while I think they are amazing cars, buying a ultra low mileage one isn’t the best decision if you want to fully enjoy them. Today’s C126 for sale in New York has a little more miles and is a little less pricey that maybe makes it a little better option if you are looking for a great SEC.

3 CommentsI usually don’t think twice when I see a Mercedes with a ton of miles on it. But I started thinking a lot more than twice when I saw a W211 E55 AMG with over 400,000 miles for sale. As I started digger deeper into this wunderkind, the story got even wilder. This E55 had a single owner its entire 400,000 mile life and managed to get into two accidents in that time with one severe enough to deploy the airbags. So obviously this W211Â for sale outside of Chicago deserves a deeper look, so let’s try to make sense of this one.

1 CommentI love the W210 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG — so much so that I bought two of them. I still have one and gave the other one to my father because he, too, loved it so much. He drives his everyday in all the elements, while mine stays tucked away in the garage under a cover and doesn’t come out unless the pollen level is under a certain limit and no one on my street is cutting grass. You can probably guess what kind of condition both cars are in by now but that’s indicative of the chassis. AMG or not, you were going to get out of the W210 what you put into it.
The W210 E55 is a special car. It’s the last AMG built before they started going crazy with Airmatic suspension, SBC brakes, superchargers – the list goes on. The W210 a simple equation: big engine, big brakes and big wide tires. Yes, you still got all the special edition stuff like different bumpers and side skirts, exclusive seats, steering wheel, gauge cluster and some wood that the non-AMG cars were left without. In addition to these special goodies, you got a chance at some options that you probably didn’t even know existed on the W210. That’s what kind of E55 we have for sale today in Dallas. So let’s check out this ultra-loaded example out.

1 CommentI’m not afraid to say that the W203 is my one of my least favorite Mercedes ever made. The design was soft, the entire interior was a plastic mess and even the wheel design sucked. These were geared towards entry-level buyers and the lease deals on them were targeted towards anyone who had a pulse and a solid proof of couch ownership with coins under the cushions. This left us with a mass sea of used W203s for sale that you can pick up for mere peanuts. Seriously, I think some buyers on Craigslist are accepting bags of peanuts to take away their 2001 C240s. But one model out of all the miserable cars stood out and actually was worth driving and hey, maybe even buying. Allow me to reintroduce the C55 AMG.
