1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S

I love a good story, and I love even more when those good stories involve Porsche 911 Turbo S cars. This wonderful 1997 Turbo S for sale in Munich, Germany is the reportedly press car for all of the 993 Turbo S literature and events thus built with some very special parts. Boy, do I love these cars.

2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Someone here knew what they were doing. Generally, when product allocators sit in their cubicles somewhere in state that gave them the biggest tax break to set up operations there, they cast a far and wide net mixed with a little bit of strategy. They want vehicles that are appealing and easy to sell to the most amount of people possible. That means lots of neutral colors, but also understanding that cars that have certain options go to certain places. A car with the Cold Weather Package probably doesn’t need to be dumped at a dealer in Miami, and a convertible in Speed Yellow isn’t likely to get allocated to Fargo, North Dakota. However, you do have that handful of custom orders that don’t need any of that given you know exactly where the car is going and who is buying it.

Today, I think we might have one of those cases based on the specification, but sadly it looks like it never went into the garage of the person who ordered it given it has just 81 miles. You’ll see what I mean.

2012 Porsche Cayman R

I feel like I get déjà vu more often than not looking as so many cars, but usually write it off as a seeing similar cars and not seeing the actual same car that I thought I saw. You know what I mean. However, some cars as so unique that is it worth taking a few seconds to look back to make sure you actually aren’t crazy. Come to find out, I wasn’t crazy.

This 2012 Porsche Cayman R was featured by Carter exactly one year ago today and guess what? It is still for sale at the same dealership with the same mileage and exact same photos. Stale bread anyone?

2013 Porsche Boxster

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but if you are looking for bang for your buck, Porsche is not your brand. You are paying for much more than power, at least that want Porsche wants you to think and how we justify buying them, but it is true to a large extent. Everything just seems “right” despite not having the biggest numbers on paper and that is what keeps people lined up around the block to buy them.

Today’s car, a 2013 Boxster up for sale in Cleveland, Ohio, actually has a fair amount of value for what you are paying for it and brings a little flare with it as well. You see that red leather cabin.

1997 Porsche 911 Turbo

For me, the 993 generation of the Porsche 911 Turbo just gets it right. Clearly I’m not alone in feeling this way given the way values have gone in the past year and a half or so. There will never be another aircooled 911 Turbo unless the air is coming from fans cooling giant battery packs. Even watching those old MotorWeek reviews, they even went so far as to call the 993 Turbo “one of the most capable road cars ever built.” I certainly don’t disagree given over 25 years later it can still call itself “fast.” However, is it worth the massive buy in and higher-than-average repair bills?
