Of all the wagons ever produced, there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest in my fantasy garage: the Audi RS2 Avant. This was the car that would kick off a new generation of sports wagons, a segment that is still going strong today, if not on these shores. As enthusiasts in the US wait for baited breath for these first one of these to turn 25 years of age (thus eligible for importation), let’s take a look at this RS2 for sale in eastern Germany in the rather uncommon shade of white.

Selling due to circumstances (new acquisition) my Audi RS2. One of four delivered from the factory in white. Also absolutely rare, in the last year €7,000 invested, it was properly renovated. Tires, brakes – complete front and rear (*322mm Ex Works), tail (due to age), hall sensor, radiator, new rims, all door strips and much more. In absolute original condition, no tuning etc. Inspection by Audi, car has no dents or scratches. Any questions, please call, no emails, I’m rarely on PC.
Prices for Audi RS2s are already strong, so of course by the time these cars are legal to import to the US, that will only drive up values further. But then, consider this car’s legacy. It was genesis for Audi RS cars. It popularized the idea of a wagon with supercar powers. In addition, it carried on the Quattro flame that was ignited by the Ur Quattro and rallying success back in the early 1980s. This is one of those cars that might not have been a game changer, but it combined so many attractive traits into one neat package that you can’t help but sit back and stare in awe.
