The surge in popularity of the E30 M3 has drawn into stark contrast what an incredible deal you can get on classic BMWs, and the 2002 is not only a fan favorite but also a great example. In many ways, the E10 spawned the idea of the small German performance sedan and since inception they’ve not only been popular choices as transportation, but indeed great tuning and racing platforms. However, a recent surge in prices have brought many to the market as owners try to capitalize on the increased value, so we’ve seen some great labors of love turn up for sale. This is one such case; a restored and resto-modded 2002 with a great match for a powerplant – the venerable S14:

In short….this is a very extreme 2002 and drives even better than it looks. The car needs nothing, and drives straight and smooth at any speed. The handling and braking are phenomenal and could it easily be tracked (but hasn’t). The build quality is extremely nice inside and out and could be a weekend winner with ease. I bought the car partially done and completed the build with many additions to make it 100%. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country although it would be a shame to get it dirty… The car is in the Denver area, is never driven in wet weather, and is stored in a heated warehouse with my other cars. It is not advertised in any other way or forum and if you have any other questions please call Gary at eithoneseventhreezerosevensixonefourone.
On its own, a well built and fresh S14 is worth a pretty penny alone, so it’s no surprise that the asking price for this car is high. I love the details like the rare to see OZ 3-piece mesh wheels; they stand out because they’re just different enough from the typical BBS alloys that would be found. The color combination is great and the car looks fresh and clean both inside and out. It certainly looks like the swap was well executed and should provide significant driving pleasure for the next owner. I don’t see many downsides; I’d prefer a crazier shade for the 2002 personally and would definitely prefer a “Roundie”, but overall this restomoded 2002 is impressive and I think priced fairly reasonably considering the condition and build.
