1977 Porsche 911S Coupe

This one might be a little too close to my own preferences with regard to color, but I hope others find this 911 as great looking as I do. Here we have a Minerva Blue Metallic 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe, located in New York, with a Cork interior and 46,394 miles on it. This combines two of my favorites. Minerva Blue is a wonderful shade of blue as we’ve seen before and Cork is easily my favorite among the various tan interior options Porsche has made available. Combined they work fantastically well together. Outside of those colors things get a little more tricky. A ’77 911 finds few favorites and those that do look for these models typically have their eye on their lower values. The price here extends us outside of that sort of search. Still it’s a beautiful looking example that sits with pretty low miles.

Paul Motor Company provides a comprehensive turnkey service for its customers. The vehicle will be shipped to your door with a US title. Every aspect of the transaction will be facilitated and completed by Paul Motor Company to provide our customers with complete peace of mind. There are absolutely no hidden fees.

Our 1977 Porsche 911S comes in a gorgeous Minerva Blue Metallic paint (also known as Caribe Blue) with a Cork (brown) leather interior. This color contrast is extremely eye-catching and gives this classic 911 a unique appearance. It only has 46,394 original miles on its odometer and the car’s driving experience is excellent. Shifting is smooth, steering is precise engaging and the engine pulls well nearly 40 years later!

It was fully repainted about 15 years ago in its original color and looks great with minor imperfections, namely on the passenger side.

Originally delivered on April 7th 1977 at Jim Kelly Porsche in Buffalo, New York, it has only had 2 previous owners during its life. The most recent owner was a long-time member of the Niagara Region PCA/SCCA and a true Porsche enthusiast.

It has a 5-speed manual transmission, a 2.7L 6-cylinder engine, an electric sunroof, power windows, ‘Bilstein’ shocks, leather seats, air conditioning, cruise control, automatic heating control, a leather steering wheel, headlight washers, fog lamps below the bumper and more. It also has an upgraded JVC headunit with CD player.

A number of cosmetic components were added/upgraded to the car over the years, including a unique custom dashboard which provides added functionality.

It comes with the original owner’s manual, the maintenance booklet (with service stamps) and the Porsche toolkit. US-spec vehicle. We also have the official Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this vehicle which will be provided to its future owner (see photo gallery).

Even with this low mileage some of the interior bits show more wear than what I’d expect. There’s nothing terribly egregious, but at this asking price I would be looking for pristine condition. We have seen some of the mid-year 911s begin to show better values and one like this would be just such a candidate, but I’m still not sure we’re going to see a sale here. There are just too many other options out there with better performance and similar, or even better, aesthetics to move above $50K. I do like this 911 though so hopefully the price can be brought down and it will find itself in a new home.

Is this not a good price? Just asking because the mileage seems low, the condition seems nice, the color is amazing and I know that the classic 911 market is exploding right now.

Car appears to be darker than Minerva blue, but that may be the lighting and all of the photoshop color blending they did on those shots. Minerva is one of my top 5 classic Porsche colors.

I am also guessing the car has more miles than indicated by the odo. Good thing for prospective buyers… they’ll have a lot of time to debate its value at that asking price. Sorry but you can buy a much nicer SC or Carrera for that money.

There is something simple and clean about the middie 911 but the SC and Carrera are better in just about every way.
