1987 Porsche 911 Turbo

Even though I’m perfectly content with my R53 MINI Cooper S, I am longing for the day when I have the space and extra cash to buy something more aggressive to keep the supercharged pocket rocket company. The 911 is squarely in my radar, and has been for years. For me, the 1987-89 911 3.2s offer the optimal combination of classic and modern, as they are still very much the offspring of the original 901 released in 1963. Perusing through Rennlist is a guilty pleasure of mine, as the selection of choice Porsches owned by those who know and love them is impressive. This 1987 Turbo for sale in Colorado did a good job of getting my attention.

Selling my 1987 930. I bought the car with the intention of keeping it and driving it, but I’ve put less than 200 miles on it in the past 4 months. PPI is welcome at buyers expense.

**UPDATE**
The car is back up for sale. There is some debate on the car about the right front fender being replaced, so I’ve adjusted the price accordingly to $35,000 and I’m hoping for a quick sale since the car is just sitting around. It is currently in NYC.

At $35,000, this is a pretty good deal for a 930. This isn’t the lowest mileage or most perfect 930, but it is well presented and has had a host of important work done to it. At this price, you might even find a few non-turbo 3.2s of similar vintage for sale, albeit ones that are close to new condition. If I pull the 911 trigger one of these days, I’ll probably go for a Turbo-look 3.2, but there’s no doubt that a 930 in black with the classic Fuchs rims is timeless. This was the face of the 911 throughout the 1980s.

Sweet! A classic 930 in perfect colors for a good price (or at least good for a 930). If the questions about that fender can be traced back to something innocuous, then this would likely hold it’s value pretty well. As noted, this car is timeless.

There is something just odd about the car. The price at first glance appears to be very attractive and it makes me wonder why it’s not sold. Also the fact that the car is a Colorado car but it’s in NYC throws up a red flag. Those are non Fuchs wheels, they are some sort of aftermarket 17 inch versions. Some of the aftermarkets replicas are excellent and others are so so.

Just wondering why if it was sold several months ago that the deal didn’t happen and why the car is in NYC now?

By the way an 87-89 turbo look car, a real M491 optioned car would typically bring a higher price than this 930 is being offered at assuming similar miles and condition. M491 Coupes are rather rare cars.

What a stunning example! Porsche just celebrated ten years of the carrera cup, would love to turn up to one of their meetings in this little beaut!
