It might be V8 week at GCFSB, but it’s never a bad time to celebrate a sports car hero with half the cylinder count: the E30 BMW M3. While the last generation M3 might have had a V8, it was this fierce four cylinder sports saloon that burnished the name “M” in the minds of enthusiasts everywhere. It wasn’t just a pretty face, though, as these cars were a force to be reckoned with in both touring car and rally competition. This pedigree has in no doubt influenced values over the last few years, as the era of the affordable E30 M3 has passed us by. This M3 for sale in Seattle has 150k miles and has gone through four owners. It’s had some performance mods added but looks to be in good nick considering the mileage.

This 88 E30 M3 is an timeless classic, an instant hit among enthusiasts. A true drivers car with a S14 producing stock 192 bhp paired to a Getrag 265 5-speed gearbox and suspension to go with it. This specific car has a long local history with 4 owners since new. My associate has sold this car to the last 2 owners. This cars last owner was a BMW specialty mechanic. It has been taken care of at Car Tender in Seattle.

On their site, the dealer has listed an asking price of $24,995. That seems like a lot for a 25 year old car with 150k on the clock, but it’s not far off from what E30 M3s in good shape with over 100k are bringing these days. Good ones with lower mileage are regularly bringing $30,000 and more and snagging a car like this one for under $20,000 these days seems damn near impossible, unless the car has major issues or needs an thorough refresh. I’m feeling that a price closer to $20,000 rather than $25,000 might be more realistic for this particular car, but as usual, it all depends on who is bidding.

Right color, wrong miles !
geeze whats my 89 with 112k on the odo worth!….
prices have been going straight up….unfortunately even for cars that don’t merit the kind of money they are getting…
records are everything with an S14..at 150k a rebuild may be in order depending on how it was cared for…
