We’re suckers for a sharp wagon here on GCFSB and fewer do it better than BMW with their Touring formula. One of my favorites was the E46 Touring. This was the first 3 series Touring to appear stateside, offering customers a bit more of a compact wagon format than the previous E34 and E39 Tourings that preceded it. These days the E46 Touring is an affordable proposition and a great choice for the young family or outdoor recreation types seeking a bit of sport in their hauling mix. This 2001 325i Touring for sale in Florida has a 5-speed manual gearbox and sits pretty on 17″ Style 44 alloys, giving it a distinct look over your cooking variety E46 Touring.

The E46 is the fourth generation of BMW’s 3 Series entry-level luxury car. The E46 experienced enormous success in all markets and was widely considered the performance benchmark of its class. The record year for the E46 was 2002, when 561,249 vehicles were sold worldwide. As a credit to the E46 platform, it was chosen for Car and Driver Magazine’s “10 Best Cars” every year of its production.

This BMW 325iT Wagon is in excellent shape and its condition is consistent to a car with less than half the mileage both inside and out! The body is clean and free of any major blemishes, scratches, or dents. Like any used car there might be various minor imperfections around the car from everyday driving. There is a minor ding on the rear driver corner just below the taillight. The interior is in excellent shape and was obviously well-maintained by a non-smoker. The seats are in immaculate condition and there is no significant wear on the interior given the mileage. The A/C blows strong and ice cold. While the description is pretty lengthy, the seller failed to include any shots of the interior or engine bay in the ad copy, which is unfortunate, because this appears to be an otherwise tidy E46 Touring. The price is a bit reaching for an early E46 Touring with this kind of mileage, as you can easily get into a E39 5er Touring for similar cash. If the interior isn’t shot and you could knock around $1,500 off the ask, this would be one solid tool to hit either the slopes or the beach, depending on you’re locale of choice this holiday season.

Paul they said they installed a new shift knob, what else is there to know about the interior? 😉

Close analysis of the fuel door shows there is a driver’s side respray. A bad one, at that.

@Dean – good eye, after pulling up their large pics I see what you mean, there is paint all around the outside of the fuel neck.

That’s so odd that they only shared a few photos, and one of those few showed conspicuous paint work!

Dean the fuel door is on the passenger’s side. What are you looking at?

    Ry December 16, 2014

@bushwick bob – Dean must’ve meant passenger side, look at the seller’s own closeup of that area, it’s pretty obvious when you see the filler neck. And that’s not an area you’d want to do a spot touch up on (in titanium silver no less), so it’s minimally that whole panel, maybe more to blend it.

Ry, you’re right. The fuel door is on the passenger side. Mea culpa. I should know.. I own a 2002 325iT !

    Dean,

I am the owner of the car. Contrary to your opinion, there is no paintwork done on the passenger side quarterpanel.

And to all the others that posted, there are 80 photos of the car inside and out and you can clearly see that the interior is immaculate.

You “online detectives” are too funny….Ry, “overspray around the filler neck”?… That is a lip that holds the rubber gasket to the car. I loosed the gasket to clean out some of the dirt behind there with a toothbrush, thanks to my OCD. Again, no previous repaint on that quarter panel….

@Jon – In the next day or two I will post a pic of my E46 filler neck and we can see if it’s ringed in paint.

It’s not a huge deal, from the pics your car looks very clean, and assuming that panel was painted, they did a good job if that’s the only visible negative. If you look at the comments on these post you will see nitpicks and comparisons, etc. etc, but all the extra clicks these auctions get seem more than worth it…even after the scrutiny of “online detectives,” who – on sites like this, often do in fact know encyclopedic levels of knowledge on the vehicles they comment on.

Thanks for chiming in with your thoughts and good luck with your sale…I’ll try to get that pic up if I can remember.

I don’t need to see a picture of your filler neck. The photo is showing the gasket is a bit off the lip of the filler neck. There is no paintwork there. Sorry to disappoint you…

    Jon December 28, 2014

@Ry, I really don’t know why you have such a hard time understanding that what you’re looking at in that photo is not overspray, but the actual painted lip of the body that the filler neck gasket attaches to. I didn’t take the time to align it properly after obsessively cleaning it. It is an actual lip that secures the rubber filler neck gasket. Please stop spewing false claims that the car has paintwork on a public forum if you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

@Jon – enjoy the free advertising that this site provides, and understand that on the Internet it will come accompanied with a commentary that you sometimes do not care for. Who cares, wasting your time dealing with everything said about an auction of yours that you don’t agree with seems like a bizarre use of your time and being super hostile doesn’t open up new sales opportunities.

It is a nice car and you have solid eBay feedback. Sorry for haphazardly speculating on your vehicle from afar, that’s my bad.

    Good luck & happy holidays.

@ Ry, Considering I do this for a business, and I have perspective buyers calling me up referencing this thread (and claims of paintwork), I don’t think its a bizarre use of my time to refute your incorrect/false and unsubstantiated claims. By “speculating” about paintwork, it reflects negatively about areas of the car on a public level that are not accurate. So, I would say its a “bizarre waste of [your] time” to post about possible paintwork on this vehicle, that, contrary to you speculation, is non-existent. Do you really have nothing better to do than post assumptions about random cars for sale on the internet that you have absolutely no intention of buying? Please go do something productive before you make false accusations about paintwork. I would think requesting an larger resolution photo of that area would be primary to posting your speculation on a public forum. Thank you for helping to mislead the public and my potential customers regarding paintwork on this vehicle.

@ Nick, yeah, I guess I have a SUMA because these self-proclaimed experts want to make false claims that I have to deal with when speaking to prospective buyers.
