Another week, another S54 powered BMW M Coupe. As a follow on to the 2001 M Coupe that Rob featured two weeks ago, here we have a similar vintage M Coupe with less miles wearing the it’s original equipment alloy wheels. Just over 1,000 S54 engined M Coupes were produced, with 678 making their way stateside between 2001 and 2002. Fewer modern cars have had the collectability factor that these Bimmers had out of the box. How high will values go? That remains to be seen.

You could almost call these cars the BMW 911, since values seem to be going nowhere but up these days. The M Coupe that Rob featured was priced just under $40,000, so with half the miles, is this one worth a $10,000 premium? That remains to be seen. This is one of the highest priced examples I’ve seen out there, regardless of which engine is under the hood. With all things limited, though, demand has a hard time meeting supply. As time goes on and less low mileage examples become available, I doubt we’ll see a dip in the market for these unique BMWs.

I’d like to say it’s overpriced (which it probably is), but EAG makes this look like a steal. They’ve got a a similar car with just under 10k miles listed for approx. $75k. Loco.
There is a HUGE premium on the one at EAG because its from them and because of the color.
333 HP going through the rear suspension of an E30.
@ Rusty: haha. Never thought of it that way. Do these still use the trailing arms from the E30 and not the E36 suspension design?
This is merely 1 of many low (and super low) mileage S54 M Coupes Avazi Auto carries. They also have a handful of S52 M Coupes and a few Z4 M Coupes as well. BMW Hatchback Lover’s paradise.
@ MGT I do believe they have the front suspension derived from an e36 chassis, but they definitely have the e30 rear trailing arm setup. It was “reinforced”, but come on! I think you would end up going through a lot of tires with that kind of power.
But that’s what makes them so fun. 🙂
Rusty, When you drive one of these cars that has had some suspension improvements done to it…..the smile never leaves your face. Ask me…..I know.
