It hasn’t been very long since I covered the RS6, but when a nice one comes up they always catch my eye. If you want a primer on the model, I covered the bases here:
Today’s example is LZ5F Sprint Blue Pearl Effect, and yeah – that’s what I noticed first. The color was fairly rare on the S4, accounting for roughly 10% of the total imported to the US. But on the RS6? This is right up there with Goodwood Green Pearl Effect as one of the rarest colors seen on the model. To cap it off, it’s also got Silk Nappa leather and is claimed to be one of one in this combination here in the US. It also has just 63,000 miles. Let’s take a look!

2003 Audi RS6 1 of 1 Sprint blue
Our ultra rare color combination of this low production US market Audi RS6 is now available for sale. Only 1200 Cars were imported by AUDI to the United states this being only 1 of 1 in the Sprint Blue with nappa silver interior. Our car was sold new in 2003 at Rockville AUDI in Maryland and was in Florida until subsequently sold to its 2nd owner purchased it in 2008 and owned it in Virginia until we purchased it this year.
The paint is original and verified by paint meter readings on each panel measuring 6-8mm thickness throughout. Paint condition is fantastic overall with some minor stone chips on the front bumper and a couple on the hood as expected with a car that’s 20 years old and has some miles. Body lines are extremely straight with no major dings or dents to note. Exterior wise the car is completely stock and has never been modified. In 2009 a recall was performed and updated all the suspension component of the car at AUDI. The factory 18 inch wheels are nearly flawless and are wrapped in Hankook V12 tires.
Interior wise the RS6 is very comfortable and has many beautiful factory touches. The silver nappa leather with black piping is in mint condition. The heated front and rear seats are trimmed in silver leather with RS6 logos debossed on the backrests. All the door cards have factory carbon trim. The door cards are mint and the door jams look like new. Carbon-fiber trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. A perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel features shift buttons for the Tiptronic transmission and frames a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a central digital display as well as gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. Alcantara headliner is starting to sag a bit behind the rear passenger headrests.
This AUDI RS6 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 mated to a five-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle and Quattro all-wheel drive. The 4.2-liter aluminum V8 was rated at 450 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque when new. The car makes 415lb ft of torque at 1900 rpms pinning you in your seat and accelerating this 4000LB saloon from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
Maintenance wise the car comes with all books manuals and comprehensive service history. Previously a AUDI certified pre owned vehicle the second owner was so meticulous he kept a log of gas receipts. The previous owner also bought an additional warranty and kept up with maintenance religiously. In 2012 the timing belt was changed to ensure longevity and reliability. At the moment mechanically the car needs nothing. The car turns on effortlessly with a steady idle and no error codes displayed.
Purchaser will receive all books and manuals, clean car fax, all pertinent records and 1 key.

As you can tell, the condition is great and the color combination is fantastic. The last RS6 I looked at had less than half the mileage and the asking price was just under 50k, and this one is priced $43k. While the 10-year-old timing belt job is nice to reference, the reality is that like the last one, this one probably needs a lot of rubber items replaced due to age. Couple that with the high asking prices, and it’s hard to get super excited. What’s the real-world value of these cars? It varies, but the Goodwood Green Pearl Effect example with half the mileage of this car sold for $34,000 in June, and the market was better at that point. I love the blue here, but in all honesty I’d take the BaT example and $10k in savings.
