Launched for the 2006 model year, the Boxster based Cayman was Porsche’s answer to enthusiasts looking for a fixed roof sports car that was a bit less expensive than your base 911. There was a fear at first that with performance nearly approaching the 911, the Cayman would eat into 911 sales, but it seems over time both cars have appealed to different buyers for a different reasons. Now in its second generation, first generation Caymans are proving an attractive used buy for those wanting a Porsche at a discount but perhaps aren’t ready to go the classic car route. This Cayman for sale in Massachusetts is the faster S model with the 3.4 liter flat six engine and 320 horsepower. This makes this car good for runs to 60 mph in just under five seconds.

With only 5,000 miles and one owner, this Cayman S represents a pretty good deal at under $30,000. Most Caymans of this year and caliber are trading hands these days for a few thousand more, usually around the low $30,000 range. Those with Tiptronic transmissions generally bring a little bit less, revealing that enthusiasts in the market for these kind of vehicles still prefer the tried and true manual gearbox.
