1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Estate

Twenty years on, you still see plenty of W124 Mercedes-Benzes pounding the pavement. Christened the E class upon its introduction in 1986, this range had a monumental task of taking over from one of the most legendary Mercedes models of all time, the W123. But the W124 became a legend in its own right, with an expansive choice of models that included a sedan, coupe, four-seater cabriolet, the manic 500E/E500 and this car, the estate. This final year E320 Estate for sale in California is a one-family vehicle that has covered under 100,000 miles.

Motorsport Monday: 1975 Porsche 911 3.0 RSR

The Porsche 911 is a versatile vehicle when it comes to motorsport. Rallying, LeMans, even the International Race of Champions employed the venerable rear-engined sports car in competition. This 1975 911 3.0 RSR is a tribute to a 911 campaigned by famous Porsche mechanic, dealer and racer Vasek Polak. It was Polak who, in 1959, opened the first Porsche only dealership in the United States. That RSR was campaigned successfully in IMSA in 1975 and would be raced until 1981, racking up more victories along the way. This 911 3.0 RSR is a recreation of that impressive machine, on offer in Southern California.

E28 M5 Roundup

Has it really been 4 months since we looked at a 1988 BMW M5? Fellow author Nate has just refreshed his M5 and been raving about it once again. It’s easy to understand why; with a 1988 M5 in my family also, I’ve had the pleasure of driving the legend that has become the M5 many times and it’s enjoyable in every single instance. These M cars have also been one of the best values in classic BMW ownership for a while, though that’s been changing over the past year or two. But like the Audi C4 S4/S6, owners of these classic but traditionally more affordable have enjoyed driving them and most have higher miles by this point in life. Despite that, aided by reports by classic magazine and online sensations like Chris Harris, the star that was the M5 has gotten even higher in the sky and they’re all on their way up in value. Time to jump in, then? There are three E28 M5s on Ebay right now, and you can have any color you’d like, as long as it’s black:

1997 Audi S6 with 38,000 miles

Last week, I wrote up a clean 1995 S6 Avant in super rare-to-see Casablanca White. It was one of the best Avants we’ve seen recently, and in what is already a rare car having a rare color is certainly unique. But even that car, in it’s quite good condition, still had nearly 160,000 miles. While by C4 S6 standards that’s fairly low, what if you wanted a basically new example in a rare color? That’s what we have here – not an Avant, but a 1997 Audi S6 with a scant 38,000 miles in Ragusa Green Metallic. Impressive doesn’t even start to explain the condition:

1997 Volkswagen Cabrio VR6

I’ll get this right out of the way: at GCFSB, we don’t like “stanced” cars. Okay, so what is this Cabrio doing here? Well, as we’ve done before, occasionally there are cars worth taking a look at because perhaps they can be saved. This Cabrio is a good case in point; a lower mileage example with a clean VR6 swap, but riding a little too low for most people’s taste. No problem, it’s supported by air, so you can crank it up a bit:
