After looking at the wild GT R with an asking price over $260,000, I thought I’d get back to something a little more affordable. This 1995 SL320 painted in Teal Blue Metallic checks in with a hair under 43,000 miles and is a prime candidate to drive everyday or stash away in the garage for those nicer days. The tried and tested M104 inline-6 engine is a great engine to live with and won’t cost you a mortgage payment if something goes wrong unlike the V8 and V12. But like anything, there is a catch, and this catch makes me bang my head against a brick wall.

2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R

2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R

The green monster is finally here. The Mercedes-AMG GT R is the bonkers version of the already really good AMG GT. Yes, it has 577 horsepower and does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, but this car isn’t about straight line speed. The funny thing is, it’s not a pure track car either. Yes, it has four-wheel steering, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, carbon ceramic brakes, active aerodynamics and a bunch of other crazy things that did get it around the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 10 seconds, but it is also very heavy. Heck, car magazines have been even comparing it directly to the Porsche 911 GT3RS. So what is it then? I like to think of it as more of a ”do it all” car. Want to daily drive it? Sure. Want to lay down lap times with it? It’ll handle anything you can throw at it. Want to go crazy and drift it? It’ll gladly do that also. It’s just a car like this really doesn’t have a defined role. You can have your cake and eat it too. That’s the purpose of this GT R. Fear not, because if you are looking for a track car, the AMG GT3 is on the way.

2015 Mercedes-Benz E350

2015 Mercedes-Benz E350

Last week I checked out a W212 E63 S AMG Estate in the wild Dolomite Brown Metallic. Today we have another W212, but unlike the E63, this one doesn’t do 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds while hauling a load of drywall. This is just the regular 3.5 V6 that makes a respectable 302 horsepower. So what is so special about it? Well, if you haven’t noticed, it once again is the color. This 2015 E350 for sale in Charlotte, NC is painted in Indigo Blue Metallic and is one of my favorite modern Mercedes colors. It is a little bit of blue and a little bit of purple and a whole lot of awesome in my eyes.

1979 Mercedes-Benz 300D

It has been a little while since I’ve featured a W123 so today is as good a day as ever. Today we have a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300D up for sale in Seattle, Washington. It sports the great color combo of Pastel Blue (with the matching hubcaps) and blue MB-Tex interior. I’m partial to all things W123 (I own one) and I love to see them when they’ve been cared for extensively. Luckily for everyone, this nice W123 looks to be so.

Feature Listing: 1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL

I write a lot about Mercedes-Benz and their monetary values. The overwhelming majority of the time their values are depreciating or, at best, holding steady. Every once in a blue moon I come across a car which is actually appreciating in value. Today’s featured car is not only appreciating, but is one of the hottest models in the substantial Mercedes-Benz catalog you can buy at the moment. That car is the 190SL. Produced from 1955 to 1963, the 190SL was the baby bother of the now seven-figure 300SL. Although similarly styled, the 190SL was much different mechanically than the 300SL with a carbureted four-cylinder and built on a shorted saloon chassis as opposed to a tubular space-frame like the 300SL. Because of this, 190SL values stayed relatively flat and didn’t have great demand outside of a few particularly outstanding examples. However, now that the 300SL have reached a point where they are so valuable that even putting miles on them is frowned upon by collectors, the baby brother 190SL isn’t so “baby” anymore in terms of value and collectibility. Today’s 190SL for sale in Ohio is right in that sweet spot for a classic car that can be enjoyed.
