1976 BMW 2002

During a trip to Germany in 2008, I stopped by the BMW Zentrum in Munich to check out the wares on the showroom floor and indulge in some of their collection from years past. One of the cars on display was an Inka Orange 2002tii. This was my favorite color for a 2002. It really captured the essence of the period in question and gave this car a cheerful appearance. This 2002tii for sale outside of New York City is not quite as pristine an example as the BMW restored car I saw in Munich, but with a 5-speed manual gearbox and some nice leather Recaro seats, you’ll be ready for some long-distance cruising in no time.

Wednesday Wheels Roundup

I managed to track down some neat wheels for this week’s roundup – some of which I’ve never seen in their particular configurations. The first is the set of Rial Cobra wheels for Audi 4×108 – an interesting and slightly different look than the typical BBS RS. The second set is a similar Audi 4×108 bolt pattern set of Speedline wheels. The Work BMW wheels are a set that are more often seen on Japanese market cars, so they’re cool to see for BMWs. Similarly, the Ronal Turbo in early BMW configuration is rare to find. Lastly are the BBS RM500s; not the most popular BBS design, but a quite rare one. This set would work on some Audi, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz models. Which is your favorite?

1995 BMW 318ti

After reading a Car Magazine long-term test review of the new Caterham 160, my interest in base model vehicles was rekindled. Much like the rather basic BMW 518 that Nate featured back in 2013, this 318ti has caught my attention for similar reasons. When the E36 hatchback made its debut, I wasn’t particular fond of it. But time has changed my view of it, not in the least because it wasn’t the most common E36 3 series on US shores. It’s rare you come across a good example, as these were the most affordable car in the BMW range at the time, but sometimes you’ll find a hidden gem. Such is the case with this example equipped with a 5-speed manual for sale in Oregon.

1995 BMW 840Ci

I had to do a double take when I saw this 1995 BMW 840Ci for sale in California, as Carter had featured a strikingly similar example at the end of last month. Sure enough, this Oxford Green Metallic 840Ci is a different car altogether, but one which has almost 80,000 less miles. With the lower running costs of the V8 engine over the V12 and such low mileage, this could be one of the ultimate 8 series opportunities that we’ve come across here at GCFSB.

1982 Alpina C1 2.3

It seems we often list multiple cars from the same seller; in some cases, that’s simply because they have the best examples that are available. EAG and Sloan Cars are great examples of this, amongst many. However, there’s a second tier of cars that we feature – eye candy that lies abroad and would be more difficult to procure. Such is the case with dealers like 4Star in England who seemingly has an endless supply of incredible examples of cars we all want. I think, however, that we need to add “ExoticCarsJapan” to the list, since this is now the third successive Alpina and fourth BMW I’ve written up from them. However, unlike the two previous E28 5-series B9s, today’s example is quite a rare example – a 1982 C1 2.3 E21:
