It isn’t just enough to owner a six-figure Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Oh no. That is plebeian. You have to order it in a G Manufaktur paint choice for an $6,500. That’s a bargain compared to Porsche and Mercedes-Benz knows this, which is why they offer 14 of those G Manufaktur color shades. Today, we have South Sea Blue Metallic on this 2021 G63 AMG with a mere 832 miles. Great, right? Wait until you see the asking price on this one. Hold on.

The engineers and product planners who are responsible for the Mercedes-AMG GT sure are busy. Launched for the 2015 model year, the lineup is as follows: GT, GT S, GT C, GT R, GT R Pro, GT Roadster, and the now the craziest of them all, the new GT Black Series. As with everything previously Black Series, this is a very extreme car. Overzealous aerodynamic bodywork, a track-focused suspension setup, and a peak of 720 horsepower. This is not a GT car, despite the literal name of GT Black Series. The price? $335,000. That of course is the price Mercedes prints on the sticker. But this is 2021, where everything is priced to the extreme – and this example in Arkansas is no different.

5 CommentsFor every bland S-Class that Mercedes-Benz produces to lease to some eye doctor in Ocala, Florida, every once in a while they’ll mix up something special for the ones in the know. Today’s 2008 S65 AMG is one of those. This is a “Designo Graphite Edition” that I did not even realize existed and probably wouldn’t believe either outside of seeing it listed on the window sticker for a cool $9,765. What is it? Graphite paint, Corteccia and Charcoal AMG leather, a heated steering wheel, matte natural oak wood trim, and an Alcantara headliner. All in addition to the loads of goodies that already comes standard on a 2008 S65 AMG. Add it all up and you’d find a sticker price when new of $210,265. Bonkers.

4 CommentsNot that they weren’t valuable before, but it certainly seems like collectors or “want-to-be collectors” are trying to grab every little piece of pre-merger AMG stuff they can get their hands on. The thing is, no one really knows what is all out there and where they are at. Being that they were produced à la carte-style at several different AMG subsidies around the world and record keeping was rather sparse, tracking these cars is difficult at best, and the possibilities were endless in terms of how tame or how crazy you wanted to go. One car might get some bumpers and side skirts, while the one being built beside it might get widebody treatment and a 6.0-liter swap. Once they were finished, off they went to who-knows-where.
Today’s car, a 1992 300CE, is somewhere in the middle. It has the classic AMG bodykit, Monoblock wheels, and an M103 with bumped-up displacement to 3.4 liters. Sadly there is no 6.0 here, but surely it is a great looking automobile and still can be fun. This one is up for sale in central Paris of all places has a fair amount of miles, and is priced somewhat reasonably considering what we saw another 3.4 car sell for back in May.

1 CommentSometimes you see a car and say “Remember when they made that?” I had a brief moment when I saw this 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series. Of course I remembered the car, but with only 175 of them in the US, it’s not like you see them for sale often. This thing is every way bonkers in the power department as sinister as it looks with 661 horsepower with 738 pound-feet of torque. Also bonkers, the price tag of nearly $300,000. Pricessurprisingly dipped pretty hard considering they only produced 350 for the entire world, but now it seems like now is the time to snatch one up as the death of the V12 is near.
This example up for sale in Miami comes in with just under 11,000 miles and looks every bit the part. Prepare to pay though, as prices are getting stronger.
