1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa – No Reserve

This one will be a little bit of a quick hitter. I’ve featured a good number of classic 911s lately. In part that’s because I like them and there have been a good number of nice looking and interesting examples come on the market. But it’s also in part because their values have gotten a bit more reasonable over the past year and I’ve been interested in where they are selling. That’s my predominant interest here as we have one that looks in good shape, has reasonable mileage, and is up for a no reserve auction. So let’s get to it: here we have a White Gold Metallic 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa, located in Oregon, with Tan interior and 56,153 miles on it. The ’86MY usually makes for a nice value since it’s the last year before Porsche debuted the G50 5-speed manual. Let’s see if this one follows suit.

1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet – REVISIT

s-l1600-1

The one-year only Guards Red 1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet we featured in late September remains up for a reserve auction. It’s consistently received a bid or two on these auctions right around $50K and now sits with a BIN price that is a little lower than when we first featured it. It’s still a lot of money for a 911SC, but given the low mileage and that these were the first year Porsche produced a Cabriolet for the 911 perhaps it may finally see a sale.

Signal Yellow 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe – 1 of 1

As the title suggests, we’re going really rare here with this Signal Yellow 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe located in New York. It isn’t just the special order exterior color, but also the additional options, most notably the sunroof delete, that makes this 911 extra special and rare on the marketplace. Signal Yellow is a favorite of many that adds some notes of orange to the yellow paint to produce a very vibrant shade. The pictures here do a good job of capturing its orange hues and it will no doubt turn heads and should attract plenty of interest from 911 enthusiasts. The price for all of this rarity is high, but that’s hardly surprising.

1964 Porsche 356C 1600 SC Cabriolet

Anyone who is a frequent reader will know that I love new and interesting colors. It’s one of the aspects of any car that is most likely to attract me to it and make we want to investigate it further. I’m certainly not alone in this as color represents anyone’s most immediate apprehension of a vehicle, but I find it especially important and even find myself giving significant attention to colors I don’t even necessarily like! What does this have to do with this 1964 Porsche 356C 1600 SC Cabriolet? 1) It’s beautiful, as most any 356 Cabriolet is. 2) Until now I’ve never come across this color. It’s Champagne Yellow, a color Porsche only made available in the ’60s, and as the name suggests it’s a very light version of yellow with hints of gold. It looks great on this vintage 356!

Paint-to-sample 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet – M491

This 911 will take some work to get our heads around. There are a whole host of interesting details to this car, but also plenty of questions. Let’s start with the basics of what we’ve got and then we can get to the questions. This is a 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet with a paint-to-sample exterior and interior to sample. Those points on their own are of some significance, though we must admit that while these colors may be special order there isn’t really a lot that is special about them. Don’t get me wrong, the burgundy interior is great and the exterior is a nice shade of metallic paint, but if you didn’t tell me they were special order I wouldn’t have immediately thought that. But we don’t end there. It also has sport seats, which are a nice addition, and more importantly comes with the M491 Turbo-look package. As if all of that is not enough, attentive readers will also notice that it’s a Turbo-look package with the spoiler delete. That last point is perhaps the most important aspect of all as the Turbo-look with spoiler delete is very rare. We almost never see them and on the Cabriolet especially it makes for a really attractive change. Combining all of these options creates a very rare 911 and one that should attract a lot of attention. If it can all be verified….
