1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera – REVISIT

s-l1600

The Grand Prix White 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera we featured back in May is back up for sale this time with the price reduced by $10K. I don’t know if that reduction will be enough to see it sell, but with its sport seats and wider wheels this 930 has a few interesting options added to what is already a very nice car.

1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe – REVISIT

s-l1600

The Oak Green Metallic 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe we featured back in August remains up for a no reserve auction. Before you wonder how that makes sense (shouldn’t a no-reserve auction result in a sale?), the seller has been dealing with multiple auctions won by non-paying bidders. So let’s hope this one can finally have a true chance at selling. The overall asking price is a little high when we consider mileage and condition. There are certainly areas that need work, but if the price can move a little closer to the mid-20s rather than $30K then it should make for a reasonable opportunity at getting into a classic 911.

1973 Porsche 911T Coupe – REVISIT

s-l1600

I don’t normally revisit a car this quickly, but since I’ve pretty much decided I love this 911 I’m going to break with protocol. The Aubergine 1973 Porsche 911T Coupe is still for sale and the seller has now made his ask clear rather than wait out a reserve auction. Given that bidding in the previous auction only reached $58,783, asking $100K is a substantial leap. Perhaps the seller simply needs the right buyer to come along. It’s certainly a lot for a 911T, but showcasing one of the best colors from its era certainly helps it.

1980 Audi 5000 Diesel – REVISIT

When I saw this 5000, it looked familiar to me even though we rarely cover C2s. But when I read the ad, I was sure I’d seen it before. While we try to produce fresh material with every post, once in a while a truly special or unique alumnus of our pages resurfaces. In this case, it’s a quite rare Type 43 Audi 5000 Diesel. Originally, this car was written up at the end of 2013; now, nearly 3 years later, it’s back from a seller in Tennessee, have traveled only apparently 200 more miles and with a $1,000 price drop to $8,995. What’s perhaps even more spectacular is that they stole my words for the advertisement copy, only replacing “New England” as seen below with “Tennessee”. While it was good for a laugh and I’ll choose to chalk the plagiarism up to a backhanded compliment, this remains a very impressive and rarely seen specimen:

Feature Listing Alumnus: 2006 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Estate

3

We originally featured this 2006 Mercedes-Benz E55 Estate back in May of 2013 from our friends at EuroWerkz. This car has boomeranged to them with a little bit more miles but presenting just as great as it always has. The E55 AMG Estate needs no introduction here at GCFSB. It’s remarkable that Mercedes-Benz still offers a go-fast E-class Estate in a marketplace that demands vanilla offerings at every turn. But they have bravely carried on through the years, offering this bonkers five-door to us for a decade now. Along with the Geländewagen and AMG GT, this populates the cool corner of the current Mercedes lineup. However, not everyone has around $100,000 to spend on a new family speed machine. This E55 AMG offers a solution around that fiscal sticking point.
