The Speed Yellow 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 we featured in June remains for sale. The price has not changed, but I still think that price remains fairly reasonable all things considered. The GT3 is one of the best of the 996 and unlike some of the other 996 models should stand to hold (or even increase) its value fairly well. Now seems like the time to snatch one of these up.

The Guards Red 1988 Porsche 930 Coupe with Mahogany interior, which we featured back in June, remains for sale. The seller appears to be quite motivated as his asking price continues to come down with each passing auction. It now sits at $112,500 and given the mileage and somewhat rare interior color the pricing doesn’t seem too bad.

On the verge of three years ago I took a look at a neat 911 Carrera RSR tribute. Rather than take the typical path of copying the IROC cars, the builder of this particular car chose the “Mary Stuart” Martini Racing example to clone. The car was named because the wrap around rear duck-tail spoiler reminded some of the high collars which were the vogue during Mary, Queen of Scots’ reign. With its unique tail offsetting those iconic colors, it is certainly an attention getter. However, the seller has now attempted to shift this car more or less continually since 2013 – first at an asking price of $165,000, then dropping in 2014 to $135,000, and now back up to $165,000 presumably to try to capitalize on the current 911 market. It is without a doubt a neat build and unique execution, so even though it’s unlikely to trade this time around again I thought it was worth another look:

I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I think Martini Racing colors are just awesome. Some people insist everything looks better in “Gulf Blue”, but for me, it’s those Martini stripes that made some of the best looking race cars (and in a very few cases, even improved road cars). Case in point is today’s example; perhaps one of the strangest downforce attempts of the 1970s on a Porsche – the Mary Stuart tailed Martini Racing RSR. While a neat design in some ways, it certainly looks odd from other angles. Today’s 1971 911 is a recreation of the original, but you can’t deny that it looks fantastic in the proper Martini Racing colors of the 1973 RSR:
The very orange Lamborghini colored 2005 Porsche Carrera GT we featured back in March remains for sale. Eye catching does not even begin to describe this car as it melds the insane world of Lambo colors with the staid and elegant lines of a Porsche – or at least as staid as the Carrera GT gets. There is a steep price for that color though even after the seller dropped the price by $200K. There’s certainly a price point where things will being to make sense, but frankly I’m not really sure what it is, especially when we must also consider that this is one of the lowest mileage GTs we’ve come across. For now, we simply wait.

The Guards Red 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo we featured in early April remains for sale. After a few auctions that failed to meet the reserve the seller has decided to forgo the suspense and list it with his asking price. That price, $60K, is about $10K above where auctions have ended so we’ll have to see whether anyone has enough interest to go that high. We don’t see Guards Red on the 996TT very often and this one has pretty low miles so perhaps it will sell. That price does begin to eat into the great values we typically see with these cars, but even at $60K it’s a heck of a lot of performance for your money.

The 1987 Porsche 930 Slantnose Coupe we featured back in January 2015 has come back up for sale. Nothing much appears to have changed over that year and a half as it’s still being offered by the same seller, has a similar – though slightly higher – price tag, and only 200 extra miles on the clock. The market went through a bit of a roller-coaster since the last time this 930 was featured and I will be interested to see if it now sells.

The low mileage, mint condition Volkswagen Dasher Wagon we featured for a second time in November of last year has reappeared once again. They don’t get any better than this, so if you want to help clear your mind of recent emission scandal and reminisce about the good old days, this would be a good VW in which to do it.

Hot on the heels of Craig’s Mugello Blue RS4 Cabriolet, I spotted this Mugello Red M3 that looked quite familiar. A 1994 model, it’s a full European specification 286 horsepower car, meaning it’s the E36 that you wanted but BMW decided was too expensive to import. Back in 2014 when I first looked at this car was it a reserve auction, but as of now the first bid at $12,500 will get it. The current seller has taken a gamble with the no reserve auction format, but no information provided means the buyer would also be rolling the dice if you didn’t have the earlier description we do below. With only 4,000 more miles accrued, this hotter M3 is in above average condition with below average mileage and quite desirable package overall that is very affordable.

The 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe we featured back in April remains for sale. With its Mirage Metallic over Boxster Red color combination this is one of the prettiest 996s we’ve come across, but the consensus was that the price was too high. Well, it’s probably still too high, but it has been lowered by nearly $5K and now sits at $32K. If that price were lowered another $5K I suspect we’d see this 911 snapped up pretty quickly, but at least we are moving in the right direction. We’ll see whether it has any takers.

One of the more amazing custom vehicles I’ve come across in my time writing here is also one of the most discrete. Upon seeing this Volcano Mica Audi Avant, most would probably dismiss it as just another S6 – but the secret identity of this wünderwagon lies beneath the subtle exterior upgrades. Not only did it start life as a mild-mannered A6, but the conversion to an S car went one step farther than normal in mimicing the European-market S6 Plus. The creation is unique, impressive, and semi-inexplicably still for sale today, some 6 months after I originally looked at it:
