Update 1/17/19: Blast from the past! After nearly four years, this Hamann-modified Technoviolet E36 M3 (originally Arctic Silver Metallic) is back on the market. It is listed as having only 400 more miles than in 2015, and the price is up from $20,000 to $24,595 today.
Out of the box, the BMW E36 M3 offered almost everything a serious motorist could want. A lusty inline-6, slick manual gearbox and beefed up body cladding to differentiate itself from the lesser models on which it was based. But there’s always customers out there who want just a bit more or prefer to tinker with their ride a bit to stand out from the crowd. This 1997 BMW M3 comes to us from our friends at Sun Valley Auto Club and is equipped with a Hamann body kit and Hamann PG3 wheels, along with Sparco seats and H&R springs. Added in to the mix is a hue of purple that will certainly grab your attention.

Old Description
Want to stand out from the crowd? This M3 has been tastefully modified to do so. Lets start with the obvious; Hamann STW wide body kit finished in Peugeot purple, Hamann PG3 wheels, full custom sound system with a Play Station 2, Sparco Torino sport seats, H&R springs with Bilstein shocks, and plenty of performance parts. All of those modes have been added to an already solid platform. 35,582 original miles on BMW’s premiere performance platform. This car is tight. It was published in Performance BMW on October 2002. In addition it has all of its receipts totaling over $32,000. Even after a decade the car still shines in its show condition. Here is your opportunity to purchase a show car at a fraction of the price or drive the wheels off of it like it was intended to do. Do view our test drive video and request a link to additional photos. Give Max a call at 208-720-8854 or Shep at 208-721-1973.
While I don’t mind the Hamann body kit and wheels, a lot of the electronic add ons are a bit too much for my tastes. However, this M3 is fairly low mileage and it would be possible to remove a lot of those add ons if desired. Compared to its predecessor, the E30 M3, the E36 M3 still has a lot of catching up to do in terms of value. If you find a clean, lower mileage example like this, those cars will likely come with a bit of a premium and would be worth snapping up. I’m still rather baffled, though, that anyone would put this much effort into a sound system in a car like this, as there’s a perfectly good 3.2 liter symphony waiting to be unleashed under the hood.

Thanks Paul!
Well you couldn’t build that for $19K. Not really my taste in an M3, and wonder how the handling is with the wide body? I did buy a car off Shep a few years ago and can highly recommend him as well as Sun Valley Auto. Great place to visit if you like cars and my transaction with them was first class all the way.
All of that show for a basically stock S52. The money would have been much better spent on a euro S50 swap 🙂 Nice car for someone who likes flashy though.
Way too much downscale pimping. Too bad. Like the car a lot. Maybe Snoop Dogg is in the market
Looks like you could have had it for a 20% discount 2 months ago.

Previous seller says it is Techno Violet, but the shock towers look like titanium silver to me.
I prefer Daytona Violet, myself.
The BMW feature listing is good but their is some lake on the listing. You may describe more about this great car.
