1993 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Westfalia

$_57 (1)

Let’s face it. Vans are not normally considered the coolest genre of vehicles. But with Volkswagen forbidding US customers access to their most recent Transporters and the commonality of the SUV, the Eurovan, as it was known stateside, has gained a bit of a cult status in the US. While the version equipped with the VR6 engine might be fresh in our minds, a few were sold here in the early part of the 1990s with a 2.5 liter inline-5 cylinder engine. This Eurovan for sale in Florida looks very 1993 with its shade of green and is one of the early examples equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

1993 and 1994 Audi S4s

Finding a good first generation S4 is a bit of a hard task today. First off, they weren’t the most plentiful car imported to the United States. On top of that, many have fallen victim to neglect, crashes or part-outs as they donated their valuable and powerful motors to projects. It’s gotten to the point where I’d even term it infrequent that we come across a clean 1992 model – arguably, the most desirable of the bunch with lower and firmer suspension than the rest of the C4 lineup. Today isn’t one of those occasions where we’ll see one, but I do have one each from the subsequent years to take a peek at:

1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

I don’t tend to post a lot of modified 911s, in part because usually we come across plenty of interesting and original examples to showcase, but mostly because they can be notoriously difficult to evaluate from afar (and some are downright terrible). Those that I do feature tend to fall into the realm of the restomod, but from time to time I come across something that piques my interest too much to pass by. Here we have a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa that had fallen into a somewhat poor state, but has now been restored and rebuilt though without concern for returning the car entirely to its original condition. The drivetrain remains more or less how it came from the factory, but the aesthetics have been changed quite a bit, and overall it looks very good. Typically, restorations like this focus on the long-hood design, but it’s interesting to see how a similar ethos can be carried over and applied to a 3.2 Carrera all the while retaining much of the original look.

2003 BMW M5

$_57 (1)

If the BMW 530i we featured over the weekend didn’t satisfy your horsepower needs, then here is another example of the real deal, the M5. These sedans almost perfected the formula of combining supercar performance with four-door practicality. A decade on since production halted, they are still revered as much as they were when they were new. This M5 for sale in North Carolina looks downright immaculate for a car with over 80,000 miles on the clock, certainly the product of a fastidious owner.
