2016 Porsche Macan S

Last month Porsche announced a facelift to the current generation Macan that introduced some minor visual tweaks, some changes to the interior, and a power upgraded across all the engines. The most noticeable change was with the front fascia, which lets just say has resulted in mixed reviews. Still, the Macan is the butter on the bread of the Porsche lineup, as consumers love their mid-size crossovers even more than the Cayenne. Still, these are “buy, drive, and repeat every three years” kind of vehicles. No one is going to be nostalgic for a used Macan S that someone leased to drive to their cubical everyday, but that doesn’t mean people still don’t want them today. This particular 2016 Macan S up for sale down in Florida isn’t your normal lease-spec, and you are certainly reminded that when opening the doors to see what is inside.

2015 Porsche Macan S

A few months ago I looked at a 2014 Audi SQ5 that is purely an answer to the SUV boom that doesn’t seem to be stopping. Porsche wasn’t blind to this fact, and doubled down on the highly successful Cayenne and launched the slightly smaller Q5-based Macan. Never to be short on choices, you could chose between the standard Macan, S, GTS, and Turbo. Naturally, these sold like crazy. Give people their SUV fix in a premium package and you can basically print money. However, building a lot of something means there are a ton of them on the market at any given time, and add in the always steady German depreciation, and you suddenly have a very nice package for new Honda CR-V money. This is exactly what we have today with this 2015 Macan S up for sale at a Porsche of Austin, Texas. These slightly-used SUVs just get more and more appealing to me every day.

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to – The Outer Limits.

Alright, after a bit of a lengthy admission that we can’t cover all German cars or even all that we’re interested in, I’m going to present you with something a little different. SUVs scarcely come across these pages despite their popularity, but then hybrids also don’t usually make it on to the GCFSB search criteria. So by a “little different”, I mean a lot. A lot of weight, for starters, as this Q5 hybrid tips the scales with no passengers at a hefty 4,400 lbs. A lot of technology? Undoubtedly, the Ingolstadt engineers packed this car full of every gadget at their disposal, and then had at the engine to couple it with an electronic hybrid assist. A lot of color? That too, as the buyer of this Q5 hybrid took it to the next level and let Audi Exclusive paint it the interesting shade of Papaya Orange. That’s sure a lot of a lot to take in….
