1969 Porsche 911E Coupe

It’s nice to see another of the more interesting colors available for the 911. Bahama Yellow even brings with it a touch of subtlety relative to some of the other yellows available, which really shows in the hilly vineyard scenery of the pictures here. 1969 is also important for the 911 as it was the year Porsche extended the wheelbase by 57 mm across the 911 range so as to provide more balanced dynamics. The 911E was the mid-range model available, between the entry-level 911T and sportier 911S. These were distinguished from the T by having upgraded interior as well as Bosch fuel injection rather than the Weber carbs of the T. In all, the E had more power, better dynamics, and a more luxurious interior than the T and on the current market they strike a nice balance that doesn’t reach the monetary heights necessary to purchase the extremely desirable S.

1983 Porsche 928S 5-speed Euro-Spec

It’s been both great and bad to have a resource like Flüssig Magazine’s Pablo join our ranks. It’s great because Pablo is a wealth of knowledge and a great resource on these classic front-engined Porsches; it’s bad because I’m now petrified I’ll make a mistake or choose a bad example. Sometimes, though, you need to roll the dice – and today’s European-spec 1983 928S is just one of those times. Presented in light bronze with brown leather, this 928 looks both refined and striking – but is it a good example to buy?

1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E

It’s been over a decade since I last hopped behind the wheel of one, but I still remember my last encounter with a Mercedes-Benz 500E. Harmless enough though it looks, it packs a big bite. Acceleration, braking and handling were a revelation for a luxury sedan of its day, even if this car had serious sporting intentions imbued in it by Porsche. For a while, these special W124s were somewhat affordable but values have been on the climb, even for those with more than 100,000 miles on the clock. This 500E, replete with monoblocks, has 136k miles on the clock but looks to be well cared for.

Feature Listing: 1972 Porsche 911T

There are always certain colors that elicit an irrational excitement from me when I come across them on a 911. The most popular, of course, being Guards Red, but some of the others are even better. Riviera Blue. Viper Green. Speed Yellow. These colors certainly aren’t for everyone because of their vibrant assertiveness, but for some of us they always hold a special place. For my tastes, the best shades on any sports car are orange and those are the cars that really get my heart moving. So, obviously how could I pass up this beautiful Tangerine 1972 Porsche 911T for sale from our friends at Sun Valley Auto Club in Hailey, Idaho? And, of course, with 1972 being the only year these early 911s featured an external oil tank filler, that adds an extra bit of rarity to this already rare low mileage 911T.

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Silver Anniversary Edition

This will be a bit of a quick hitter since we just featured a Silver Anniversary Carrera earlier this week. This time we have the other color option that was available on these cars, Silver Metallic. Unlike the previous example, this car comes with the original equipment necessary to return the car to original condition, which is always a nice selling point for cars such as these that are ultimately destined to become collector cars. With nearly 122K miles on the clock this example has certainly lead a fruitful life, but with a long maintenance history included prospective buyers should get a good sense of the current state of the car.
