After failing to meet reserve last time it was auctioned in August, you have another opportunity to turn the boost up to “11” on this 1986 911 Turbo DP935. The modifications and look can be a bit polarizing but this one has been updated nicely and it’s too garish in the realm of heavily modified 1980s cars. Last time there were two bids that hit $95,000 – this time, the seller opened the bidding at $95,000 with the reserve still on. I don’t expect it to sell at this amount this time around either – these DP cars take a special kind of buyer and some of the updates have unfortunately taken away some of the originality. What would you pay for this turbocharged wonder?

There are plenty of special cars in the realm of classic German automobiles, but one of the most capable and affordable is the S6 Avant. Only a few hundred of these special wagons made it to U.S. shores; denied the S4 Avant, enthusiasts lined up for the U.S. replacement for the fabled 200 20V quattro Avant. It was worth the wait, as great styling coupled with even more power for a truly luxurious sleeper wagon. It was unique on U.S. shores, too – BMW and Mercedes-Benz didn’t really offer any competition to these cars. Most have been pretty used by this point, but thanks to eagle eyes from our readers John and Jack, we can enjoy two great examples today – from mild to wild. Which would be the one you’d want?

With evangelists like the folks at flüssig magazine, the front-engined, water-cooled Porsches are finally getting the respect they deserve. Long living in the shadow of the car they were supposed to supersede, the 911, these sports cars have now become collectable in their own right, praised for their performance and practicality. Today we’ll take a look at four examples of the breed, all dressed in black and ready for some action. We’ll start with this very clean 944 Turbo for sale in Los Angeles.

So often with modified cars we decry the loss of a prime example of a highly desirable car in stock form. Of course, there are exceptions; original Ruf and AMG cars, Alpina and Hartge BMWs and even the occasional Treser is pretty neat. But generally outside of that the modifications don’t do much in terms of desirability to the market at large; people really seem to prefer stock examples. Despite that, when it comes to a generally unloved model, I’m willing to bet that no one will cry much for the loss – witness today’s 2008 Porsche Cayenne. While the facelift generation Cayenne is generally perceived as a visual improvement over the original design, I can’t say that there are a tremendous amount of enthusiasts that really get super excited about them. That’s especially true of the entry level 3.2 VR6 model; whether it’s true or not, it feels like it’s a lot more Volkswagen than Porsche, and I for one think the Touareg is better looking. Consequently, I let out an audible laugh and cheer when I stumbled across this 185″ stretched limousine version of a 2008 Cayenne:
