I do frequently find myself returning to the 911SC. Even those we might consider fairly basic examples tend to attract my notice more so than the other models. On the other hand, quite a few of those other models attract greater notice from me when I happen to come across one in a peculiar color or a special edition. But the SC attracts me even when there isn’t much more to be said than I think it looks like a good car in nice shape. I think that’s what we have here with this Guards Red 1982 911SC Targa located in Nashville. It’s bright red so I cannot properly say it isn’t flashy, but we come across Guards Red pretty often with any 911 from the ’80s so it isn’t a color that really makes us take notice. But that red exterior looks good and contrasts nicely with this Tan interior. The 911SC has remained a popular option among many 911 fans for its combination of reliability, classic looks, and pretty reasonable performance. They won’t necessarily blow you away, but that doesn’t mean they can’t provide a long life of enjoyable motoring.

1982 Porsche 911 Tan all Leather Option
This 1982 Porsche 911 TARGA is offered to you for sale by Music City Motorsports. All Sales will have a dealer $298.50 documentary fee added to the final price. There is still plenty of tread left on the tires. The paint has a showroom shine. This vehicle has all of the right options. With just 74,318 miles, this car is barely broken in. This car has successfully undergone a rigorous pre-buy inspection. This vehicle’s interior does show very minimal signs of wear, but it is in far better condition than what is expected for a vehicle of this age. Neither the ashtray, nor the cigarette lighter, appear to have been used in this vehicle. The transmission in this vehicle shifts very smoothly. This is a one-owner vehicle. All electronic components are in working condition. This is one of the most desirable color combinations and the interior was special ordered in full leather, recaro style sport seats!! The 911 is the epitome of sports cars! We have all manuals and all sets of keys. Only driven on perfect days!
This Targa presents pretty well with both a nice looking exterior and interior. The sound system is kind of humorous in a car like this, but that’s not too difficult a fix if you’re not interested in it. As I mentioned above this just looks like a nice classic 911. It’s even helped by being fairly low miles for its age. This dealer doesn’t sound very knowledgeable about the particulars of this 911 as there really isn’t much context of any significance provided in the ad, but if it is indeed a one-owner 911 then we can hope it will come with a good deal of documentation to help fill in those gaps in knowledge. Bidding remains quite reasonable at $20,100 though we’re far from the BIN price (and presumably the reserve). At first glance the asking price struck me as a bit high, but I’ll be interested to see where bidding ultimately takes us. It isn’t entirely original, but if everything checks out in good shape then perhaps we will see a sale.

I just got back from a 1000+ mile weekend trip in my SC Targa and couldn’t stop smiling!
Like the car; loathe the ad.
Just a dealer trying to ride the aircooled wave, but I think they’ve missed the peak. “All of the right options.” Really? because I don’t see front and rear spoilers or 7 and 8-inch Fuchs on this car. “Only driven on perfect days”… “barely broken in [with nearly 75K miles]”… sure. It takes some balls to ask over $45K for this car then say “All Sales will have a dealer $298.50 documentary fee added to the final price.”
