The 911 is one of those cars that is constantly on my mind. Ever since I was a kid I’ve dreamed of owning one; buying one is on the “to do” list for the next couple of years. Hopefully if I can get into a living situation where I have more space. While late model 3.2 Carreras are at the top of my shopping list, the SC, or Super Carrera, is on the radar as well, so long as the livery is right. With just shy of 100,000 miles, this Euro market SC painted in classic Guards red with the black Fuchs wheels and Euro headlamps looks the part.

1983 Porsche 911SC Carrera, Euro model, clean car. Recently upgraded air conditioning to rotary style compressor. Upgraded dash for better air conditioning outlets (no cracks). Upgraded front fog light panel. Euro style H4 headlights. Fresh overhaul about seven years ago // 10,000 miles by Scott Finlay Motorsports. Perfect shifting 5-speed transmission. Even though it’s not original, I don’t mind the later side view mirrors as they fit the flowing lines of the car and take a trained eye to really notice they are there. You can still find driver quality SCs in the $15,000 to $20,000 range, which is bargain territory when it comes to an air-cooled 911. I’d like to know whether this SC has had upgrades such as the blow off valve and SSI heat exchangers, as they add to the dependability of the car over the long haul. Given this car had a refresh by a noted Porsche specialist, I would hope these measures were taken. In the end, this SC isn’t doing anything to hold me back from pulling the trigger on a 911, and soon.

  1. I dont want to bury other people’s cars without seeing them in person but.. Thats a real crap shoot. Who knows what the real miles are since it would have had an original Speedo in KM’s. The respray is a lazy job at best with acres of overspray around the car which hints at less than a quality job. The front vlalace is from a Carrera not an SC, fron end impact? even at 19,999 thats a high number for that car. PPI big time before purchase.
