The Porsche 911 has been around for so long that there are numerous special editions attached to its history. One which we’ll highlight today is a 911 that the US market never saw, the 964 based 30 Jahre. These turbo look 911s were built in honor of the car’s 30th anniversary. While 911 of these “Jubi” editions were supposed to be built, only 896 have been proven to have been produced. In addition to the turbo look body, a few features help one distinguish a Jubi, including the titanium inlay on the shift knob, woven 911 lettering on the backs of the rear backrests and a titanium plaque on the rear shelf with the car’s production number. Only a few colors were offered, with Viola Metallic being the most popular. Other hues included Amethyst Metallic, Arctic Silver Metallic and a handful of Black Metallic and Guards Red cars. This Viola Metallic example for sale in the United Kingdom has just crossed the 20,000 mile mark and comes with a hefty price tag.

This 964 sits in a unique colour to this celebration variant – 39G Viola metallic. There is certainly some mystery with this gorgeous hue as the colour emerges from a very dark shade of purple, whilst on first inspection appearing solid, to reveal a very subtle silver flake upon closer scrutiny. The lustre and finish of the paint is second-to-none, encasing the car in a warm glow that is radically offset by the pronounced rear arches. Rubbers and plastics show soft and supple, complimenting the bodywork with wonderful original texture, shape and colour. The sunroof appears clean and tidy, operating with a smooth action and sealing correctly.INTERIOR
With Sport seats in outstanding original condition, the period Rubicon leather is complimented by a matching carpet set; an unusual and alluring combination that looks and smells like the day it left the factory. The silver gearknob shows no signs of wear whilst subtle highlights such as the deep grey dials and Jahre plaque, that reads the right way in the rear view mirror, adds further to the bespoke feel. The rear bench appears untouched with soft, crease-less leather, the carpet set retains a deep pile texture and feel with genuine over mats in front offering further protection.ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Having led a pampered life in Japan, this 3.6 has been over-service on time rather than mileage. As such, both performance and presentation are of the highest order with immediate start up and slick, intuitive operation of the drivetrain. The car feels tight and assured on test, with both switchable rear wing and all wheel drive operating quickly and smoothly upon request.WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza rubber the crested Cup wheels are in outstanding condition, free of cosmetic wear or corrosion. Brakes work as they should, with discs showing very little lip and demonstrating only light use.HISTORY FILE
Supplied new in Japan in 1994, the car had its first service in March at 1,949 miles. The history file is vast; chock-full with a vast amount of time-lined receipts alongside a fully stamped supplementary service book with no less than 16 entries. The history file is further furnished with a full book pack including operating manual, 2 keys and a Porsche Owners club card. Please visit our website for a full write up and additional photographs.
The car is supplied having had an extensive intake inspection. Warranty, Finance, Part Exchange and Worldwide shipping are all available on request.
While it’s not my favorite 911, the widebody 964 is one of my favorites for sure. Soon these special edition 30 Jahre 911s will be eligible for import to the US, falling under the 25 year rule. However, we all know that such a proposition to be one of the first owners stateside will not come cheap. As we all know, air-cooled 911 prices are through the roof currently. We don’t have any comparisons to go on for the US market, as these special 911s were never sold here. Considering what we’ve seen widebody 964 C4s pull, however, this one is priced a bit high. Sure, it is a prime target for a collector, but I can think of a few other 911s I’d rather step into at the moment for this price versus this car.

I love wide-body 964s.
Hope to have one someday, maybe even an America Roadster.
yes sadly for some of us that Elvis has left the building on 964s.
to think that 5 years ago you could have had a 964 Turbo I car for under 100k all day long…
these are just so easy on the eyes..the next gen M491….is the premium because of it being a Jahre edition car?
These are essentially the same as the 1994 wide body C4 that was sold in the US.
