The ad copy can claim the S52 is the one to have all day long, but the reality is that the money is in the later S54 cars. Despite that, one of 62 in this color combination you’re still left with a very attractive combo of Estoril Blue and Ostrich inserts which works much better than the typical black. General condition looks great and the miles are low, but some dubious modifications – namely, the unattractive headlights – have me wondering a bit about the history. Water under the bridge, those mods are pretty easily undone and this could be returned to stock, and you’d have a entertaining driver and potential investment. However, for me the problem is the premium you’re paying for the look of the M Coupe. It’s lovely, but is it worth 75% more than the equivilant low-mileage Dakar Yellow M3 from the other day?
