2011 Mercedes-Benz SL550

For as many really expensive cars I take a look at, I try to feature a fair amount of ones that are reasonably affordable in terms of how expensive this hobby can get. This is especially true when it comes down to pure valve for money. Today’s car, a 2011 Mercedes-Benz SL550 up for sale New Hampshire has a selling price of well north of $100,000 back in 2011 and was generally seen at the best buy if you wanted a German roadster. You know what you were going to get in terms of features and quality, and running costs aren’t anywhere near what you’d pay for an Italian counterpart. Now that we are over a decade later with these, that $100,000 price tag is just a reference point and actual prices are much, much lower. How does around $20,000 sound?

Yes, this one does have 120,000 miles and a small hole in the driver’s side seat bolster, but what a value here. Even better considering the selling dealer claims that someone dropped $12,000 in service on this one back in 2020. I’d be curious to see what that actually involved considering it would take a lot to rack up a $12,000 bill on of these. I love the color combo here with the Palladium Silver Metallic over dark red, and this being a 2011 model means it is one of the last R230 examples for this generation.

As mentioned, $22,000 takes this one home. I think that is an incredible value considering these probably don’t have too much further to fall, if any. Even if you put another 10,000 miles on it, I still think this will be around $20,000, so you just are going to pay for some normal upkeep. I wish I had room for another car.

I agree..these are a great value…an excellent good looking and driving car for a price you can barely get an econobox for…

If it has a solid VMI with extensive and obsessive maintenance history this is definitely worth entertaining. One of the very few Convertible/Cabriolet worth owning.

very impressive looking car . You need to look at the Carfax to see that it has been in 3 different accidents over the last 8 years. An educated buyer will see this and think twice. Andrew should have picked up on this before writing this blog in my opinion.
