Light Yellow 1979 Porsche 930 – No Reserve

Let’s continue looking at the 930 market and where values currently lie. Perhaps to an even greater degree than yesterday’s example, this paint-to-sample Light Yellow 1979 Porsche 930 with just 14,997 miles on it should provide a window onto that market. It’s up for auction with no reserve, which itself is kind of peculiar with a car like this, but maybe this dealer has had it for a while and is ready to move on. Bidding is at $103,046, a low mark given where some excellent examples have sold, so we’ll have to see where it ends.

We are told that everything here is original: the interior, the paint, and the mileage and that all of that is documented. We are shown some documents, but not enough to support the claim of full documentation. Verifying those claims will be paramount to coming to terms with this 930’s value and with the relatively low bidding I do wonder if something else is afoot. But there isn’t anything to immediately raise me suspicions. We are provided with a lot of pictures and everything looks in very nice shape. The paint looks great and the interior presents as free of cracks and tears and generally looks free of any significant wear. Maybe this 930 will end up as a really nice value, or maybe bidding will move up steadily over the coming days. We will just have to keep any eye on it to find out.
