1995 Audi S6

2021 has been the year of the C4 S6 Avant here at GCFSB; I’ve written up several different varieties, including a few European-market examples:

1995 Audi S6 Avant Euro-Spec

It’s no surprise, as the Avant generally draws the crowds, attention, and asking prices. But there are also a lot of really nice sedans still out there to be had, and today’s early S6 certainly looks like shining example of that. It’s a Tornado Red over Ecru model with just 112,000 miles. In Audi terms, that’s barely broken in! Let’s take a look:

2004 BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe

Looking through today’s BMW lineup, where everything has a million M badges to accompany the gazillion horsepower, I’ll be honest – little excites me. The M2 is pretty awesome, and a properly equipped 4-Series is a nice looker, but most I have trouble distinguishing from the Kia lineup. So it’s nice to head back in time a bit to something that’s both unique and understated at the same time. Of course, you’ll also want rear-drive only, and a singing naturally aspirated inline-six.

Today’s Z4 has all of those things. In front is the N52 inline-six, here rated at 261 horsepower and 232 lb.ft of torque. For those counting, that’s a bit more horsepower and nearly the same torque as the S52 had only a few years earlier, and N52 has a lighter alloy block. They sound great, too. The E86 was rear-drive only, too. And rare? You better believe it. We’ve all grown accustom to the unique looks of the M Coupe and its resultant low production numbers. But the 3.0si barely sold better. Just over 2,100 were sold here in just two model years, a few hundred more than the M variant. You’re not likely to see them cruising down the road in your commute, in other words. And while the looks are polarizing, I think they’re rather pretty. The best part? They’re also pretty affordable.

2019 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring

Say the words “Nogaro Blue” and you’ll perk any German car fans ears. It first showed up on the scene back with the legendary RS2 Avant as RS Blue, but was later renamed Nogaro Blue and has been a staple in the Audi lineup both as a standard color and an Audi Exclusive option you could pay for if your dealer liked you enough. Not only that, but Porsche recently started taking paint-to-sample orders with the 991 even though they literally have handfuls of nearly the same shade of blue. Still, there is bragging rights when you have the Nogaro Blue and that certainly seems to be the case with today’s car.

This 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring finished in the paint-to-sample Nogaro Blue with a black leather interior and some very special CXX option Pepita seat inserts. From there you have a whole other slew of options like the Ceramic Composite brakes, an extended range fuel tank, a front axle lift system, Sport Chrono, Bose audio, and a pile of deviated stitching and extra leather. Who wouldn’t love this one? Well, what if I told you it had just 401 miles? Time to sell the house….

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

I think what I’ve learned over the years is that if a color exists, Porsche isn’t afraid of it. They’ll basically paint your car almost any color for a (large) price, and then even themselves get a little cheeky when it comes to certain shades that you’d never expect. Today’s color, Cognac Metallic, can certainly be called that. The short of it is that it is very brown and not afraid to show it. Of course, it is on a cabriolet body with a dark brown soft top and an Espresso Natural leather interior as well. Who would sign up for this?

2001 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe

Back with another 996! This one grabbed my attention for a few reasons – first off, it’s Speed Yellow, which is awesome. Second, it had an unusual wing, and somewhat ironically has the rear Aerokid pieces not seen on the last 996 I looked at:

Mileage is slightly higher than the last one, though it has a few nice options like hardback sport seats with body-color trim. Let’s take a look!
