2021 Porsche 718 GT4

Very few new cars I examine here get me really going. Usually I take a look at them because they are interesting in one way or another, but after that they are somewhat forgettable. Today’s car however, a 2021 Porsche 718 GT4, speaks to me in every way. It is paint-to-sample Oak Green Metallic with silver wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and the carbon bucket seats with yellow deviated stitching. Where do I sign?

2021 Porsche 718 Spyder

Oh Ruby Star – a color that would draw attention at a clown convention. Some look at it and say it’s a lighter shade of red, while others will tell you it is straight up pink. To me it sure seems to brush right up against pink, but others will disagree. Personally, I love that this color exists and applaud Porsche for keeping it in the paint gun over all these generations of cars. Today, we have one of the hottest new Porsches, the 718 Spyder, sprayed in this very expensive paint-to-sample color. Although, I’m not sure I love it on this body. Let’s take a look:

2021 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

It isn’t just enough to owner a six-figure Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Oh no. That is plebeian. You have to order it in a G Manufaktur paint choice for an $6,500. That’s a bargain compared to Porsche and Mercedes-Benz knows this, which is why they offer 14 of those G Manufaktur color shades. Today, we have South Sea Blue Metallic on this 2021 G63 AMG with a mere 832 miles. Great, right? Wait until you see the asking price on this one. Hold on.

2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

The engineers and product planners who are responsible for the Mercedes-AMG GT sure are busy. Launched for the 2015 model year, the lineup is as follows: GT, GT S, GT C, GT R, GT R Pro, GT Roadster, and the now the craziest of them all, the new GT Black Series. As with everything previously Black Series, this is a very extreme car. Overzealous aerodynamic bodywork, a track-focused suspension setup, and a peak of 720 horsepower. This is not a GT car, despite the literal name of GT Black Series. The price? $335,000. That of course is the price Mercedes prints on the sticker. But this is 2021, where everything is priced to the extreme – and this example in Arkansas is no different.

2021 Mercedes-Benz G550

One of the more surprising stories in the niche car market is that basically every used second-generation W463 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is selling for way over sticker price. I am not underplaying it by saying “way over” sticker price: a new G63 AMG starts at $156,000, but these are now hitting the market for $225,000 even with a bunch of miles. Blame it on a bunch of factors, but basically the modest factory in Graz, Austria just can’t build them fast enough. Almost every market in the world wants them, and there’s apparently enough money and demand to outstrip production. It is a far cry from just 15 years ago, when Mercedes sold just 587 examples for the entire model year in the US.

This 2021 up for sale in Florida has 5,700 miles already accrued, and it is already on to its second owner. But the price? Well, you guessed it.
