2021 Porsche 718 GT4

Very few new cars I examine here get me really going. Usually I take a look at them because they are interesting in one way or another, but after that they are somewhat forgettable. Today’s car however, a 2021 Porsche 718 GT4, speaks to me in every way. It is paint-to-sample Oak Green Metallic with silver wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and the carbon bucket seats with yellow deviated stitching. Where do I sign?

It’s difficult to imagine a more tastefully optioned GT4. Zweck is pleased to offer this Oak Green Metallic (PTS) example, equipped with 6-speed manual gearbox, lightweight carbon bucket seats, PCCB, deviated yellow stitching, and all of the other right boxes selected (listed in detail below). Though it has less than 400 miles, this 718 GT4 is even better than originally delivered, having received a detail and paint correction, complete vehicle XPEL paint protection film coverage, and ceramic coating. Oh boy. This is the one for me. I know I look at a lot of the 718 GT4 and Spyders because they are the hot car right now, but this one is personally right up my alley. It has my favorite shade of green with wheels that aren’t black, the good brakes, the carbon buckets, and just enough options. All the hours I’ve spent on the Porsche configurator, and this one is very close to my final selection every time. There’s just one rather large problem.

This car, with nearly 400 miles, has an asking price of $170,000. Yeah. The sticker price was $143,000, but still, $170,000? To me, if I have $170,000, I’m buying a 991.1 GT3 RS. Make no mistake the selling dealer knows what they have here and the value of the market right now, and they are pretty confident there is a much richer version of myself out there somewhere.

  1. The ADM on this is crazy, but even used GTS 4.0 models are going for $15k above sticker at many dealers right now. I saw an ADM of $100K for a new 2022 GT3 the other day, so it looks like sanity got on the last train outta town and isn’t coming back.

  2. that is nice. only thing i would add are green tartan seat inserts… and only sml complaint on nearly all modern porsches; please delete the dash timer. ye gods.

  3. It seems like a great car but $170k is just ridiculous. Sticker is already crazy but in a world of very low supply and high demand this is what you get. I would boycott the inflated Porsche market until sanity returns which will happen when the financial and housing markets (inevitably) tank. All of the people buying bitcoin and TSLA on margin will be selling their toys. That will be the time to buy.
