2010 Porsche 911 GT3

When Porsche refreshed the 997, they made sure to remind us all that the GT3 is still very much a track-focus car and was set up as such. We saw much stiffer suspension added, as well as a switch to center-lock wheels to save weight. A cool party trick, but extremely frustrating for the weekend warriors that actually track their GT3s. You did get an increase of 20 horsepower and 17 lb-ft of torque thanks to hotter cams with greater valve lift and the addition of variable valve timing to the exhaust cams. If you sprung for the extremely expensive carbon-ceramic brakes, that shaves 44 pounds from the braking system. High entry costs didn’t stop a lot of people from racking up miles in these cars and we have a perfect example of that with this 2010 for sale in California.

2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

I hate to be the one with clichés, but a lot of times when people ask me about the values of certain cars, I reply a lot of times “They’ll never be any less expensive.” This is usually caused by a perfect storm of low production, high demand, and the very high chance of that kind of car won’t be produced ever again. Today’s car, a 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, checks all those boxes.

Only 410 examples were built for the US market during a two-year production run, which is extremely low considering how many people out there desire these cars, and the major kicker being this is one of the few GT3 RS models produced with a manual transmission. I think it is pretty clear that the days of manual gearboxes in RS cars are long gone, so if you want one, go find a 997 example. I think most of the world has realized all this, and now over the past few years prices have almost doubled. What I’d give for a GT3 RS for $140,000.

2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe

One of the things I never tire of seeing is cars with seemingly innocent exteriors and totally wild interiors. There is something about the surprise of opening the doors and seeing the totally unexpected rather than the typical black or tan. On this 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S, we have exactly that.

On the outside, it’s a totally common Seal Grey. This is a color to get lost in the crowd. However, once you open those doors, you are blasted with Terracota leather on almost every surface. Sign me up! Well, on second thought, maybe not at this price.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

For many, the 997.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is the one to get if you want the best of the best in the GT3 RS family. It was the last GT3 RS with a manual gearbox, if you don’t count whatever family the 991 911 R falls in, and some say feels like the perfect size. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 991 GT3 RS and I’m probably going to love the not-yet-released 992 GT3 RS, but if you want a manual transmission, the buck stops here. Just 541 examples came to the US, but today’s car as you might have noticed by which side the steering wheel is located, isn’t one of those 541 cars. Also, it is Cobalt Blue Metallic.

2004 Porsche 911 GT3

I don’t want to say I told you so, but literally three years ago I told everyone to buy 996 Porsche 911 GT3s and they’ll thank me. Now, almost every 996 GT3 is pushing six-figures and the really low mile ones sell as much as the 991 GT3. I don’t think they are going to keep climbing like crazy forever given it is a really tough ride and not a great street car, but it seems just saying you own a GT car now is enough and everything else comes second. Today’s example, a 2004 up for sale in Arizona, is not for anyone looking for a deal on this and is probably priced way at the top of the market.
