Alright, let’s get back to the value side of the 911 world since my last few features have all been a bit pricey (very pretty though!). This one, a silver 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, located in New York, with black leather interior and 77,400 miles on it, comes in at a pretty nice asking price even for these usually very budget friendly models. You’re not getting anything special with it – the colors are pretty standard and not the most exciting and it’s just a base Carrera rather than a S or 4S – but you’re still getting a nice dose of performance. There’s certainly enough to grab your attention and make for an exciting drive if you really put your foot down. Oh, and the seller says the IMS bearing has been “done.” That isn’t the most specific phrasing and it was reportedly done by the previous owner so we’re a little vague on the details of what exactly that means, but hopefully some documents and conversation can reveal some of those details and its new owner can breathe a little easier with that potential issue out of the way.

We are always on the lookout for good performance value and as the writer who primarily features the Porsche 911 that isn’t always easy. At least pretty much all 911s provide nice performance, if not nice value! The go to for those looking has long been the 996TT, which for a while represented absolutely silly performance for the price. If you found one with the X50 package you could get supercar levels of performance for around $40K.

Those times have changed. The cat eventually was out of the bag and I guess enough people took notice that prices began to rise. With the air-cooled market rising as well that moved more buyers toward the later water-cooled models. Things haven’t exactly gotten out of hand, but with enough low-mileage examples available it’s pretty common to now see those X50-equipped models priced above $60K. Still good value, but there are other options not far away.

Nonetheless, the search continues and here’s one that comes with a good price: a Seal Grey Metallic 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe, located in Arizona, with 6-speed manual transmission and 99,522 miles on it.

2005 Porsche 911 GT3

I wouldn’t necessarily have considered a white 911 GT3 to be one that would appeal much to me, but here I am with my second consecutive feature (third consecutive if we count the 996 GT3 RS). Of course, given unlimited options I doubt white is what I’d go for myself, but still I do think it’s a color that looks quite good on these cars. White and black are similar in the sense that both colors can look great when kept very clean. Allow them to dirty and, well, they just look unkempt and uncared for. So a clean one is nice to see. On the GT3 white gives it that wolf in sheep’s clothing look. I’ll admit that I do like the look better on the 997 than the 996, but still the one we see here, a 2005 Porsche 911 GT3 with just 24,100 miles on it, looks good.

Speed Yellow 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

I’m sticking with my two running themes here: yellow, in this case another example of the very vibrant Speed Yellow, and value 911s. As I’m sure you can guess I love Speed Yellow. If you’re still reading this I’d guess you’re at least somewhat a fan because with yellow cars in general they’re usually love/hate. For me, part of what makes Speed Yellow work is because it is so bright. I suppose I figure if you’re going to go with a bright exterior color there’s no reason to go half way. Own that brightness and enjoy every minute of it.

Here it looks quite stunning on this 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe, located in Virginia, with 57,900 miles on it. It looks to be in pretty good condition and it’s up for auction with no reserve. So if you’re in the market for a more budget-friendly 911 and you happen to like bright colors this one should be worth checking out.
