I often wonder what comes of the W140 Mercedes-Benz coupe. They certainly aren’t as striking or stately as the previous generations, but they are extremely high quality and can still be used as a daily driver without issue. Production numbers went down as the generation aged, and trying to find a V12 example in the later years is extremely tough. Still, you can find a V8-powered car without too much work and judging by recent results, not too much money. Today’s example, a 1995 S500 coupe in Virginia is finished in the wonderful shade of Emerald Pearl, gets you into what seems to be a clean car without too many miles.

Crazy to think that the older 991-generation of Porsche 911 is now 10 years old. Time stops for no one and here we are. For myself, I loved and still do admire the 991. There is nothing conversational or risky about it, other than maybe it is a little large. However, cars growing in size aren’t exactly unique to Porsche, as every car has grown outside of the really niche models. If I had my choice, I’d have a 991 GT3 and call it a day, but for around $60,000 less, I’ll take today’s car: a 2012 911 Carrera S coupe.

2 CommentsI’d really like to shake the hand of the product planner who decided that today’s car, a 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera, needed to be offered in the shade of Amaranth Violet. Yes, this is not a paint-to-sample color, but was actually offered as an optional color for on the 1994 and 1995 model years of the 911 and 968. It’s basically as purple as purple gets and needless to say, extremely rare. Does that mean it brings an extreme premium over a less exciting shade?

7 CommentsBack at it again with a special edition that came out of nowhere, for what reason we aren’t sure. This is the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG coupe Edition 1. What is the Edition 1? Just a random name that Mercedes decided to stick on their S63 AMG coupe. Even though 2015 was the first year for the model, there were just regular 2015 S63 AMG coupes that weren’t branded the Edition 1. So what was different? Well, on the outside you got designo Magno Alanite Grey Matte finish and Swarovski crystals in the LED headlights. Inside you’ll find Aubergine red leather, carbon-fiber trim, a DINAMICA-finished headliner, and a little badge on the steering wheel. That’s it. Hope you weren’t holding out for any more power.
