2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe

Hard to believe we are coming up on 10 years since the launch of the 991 Porsche 911 chassis. Even though they are officially 2013 model years, production of them began in mid-2012 and they were called “The new 911 Carrera” because there were some leftover 997.2 Turbos that were still produced as 2013 model years. There were no GTS or GT2/GT3 cars for this model year, so if you wanted the best, you had to go with the Carrera S model. Naturally, some who really wanted the new 911 and all the toys that went with them really went all out, and this is an example of one of those cars.

This 2013 C2S up for sale in Syracuse, New York was loaded up with a paint-to-sample exterior, carbon-ceramic brakes, the sport suspension and exhaust system, adaptive sport seats, Burmester audio, and a whole other laundry list of options. How much? Base price on one of these when new was around $120,000, but this one came in just north of $160,000. I wonder if they traded it in on a GT3 the next year?

2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S

I’m a mega-fan of everything green on cars. Even the wilder shades of green I’m all for, but I feel like they have their place on certain cars. Today’s car, a 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S, is finished in paint-to-sample Olive Green and has nearly $35,000 in other options for a giant sticker price of $233,255. However, I don’t know if I am in love with this one – let me explain why:

2021 Porsche 718 Spyder

Oh Ruby Star – a color that would draw attention at a clown convention. Some look at it and say it’s a lighter shade of red, while others will tell you it is straight up pink. To me it sure seems to brush right up against pink, but others will disagree. Personally, I love that this color exists and applaud Porsche for keeping it in the paint gun over all these generations of cars. Today, we have one of the hottest new Porsches, the 718 Spyder, sprayed in this very expensive paint-to-sample color. Although, I’m not sure I love it on this body. Let’s take a look:

2008 Porsche 911 Carrera

As much as I am a sucker for paint-to-sample Porsches, I’m also just as big a sucker for good deals. Combine the two, and well, I’m very close to clicking the always tempting “Buy it Now” button. Today’s car almost has me there.

This is a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera in paint-to-sample Zanzibar Red with black sport seats and my favorite “lobster fork” wheels. It also brings bi-xenon headlights, a sunroof, and climate control buttons that aren’t worn down to the bare plastic. I need more space.

2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

The 996 Porsche 911 Targa is a model that sometimes I forget even exists. They always catch me off guard when I see one come up for sale for the pure novelty of them and you paid around $10,000 more when new for a 16-square-foot view of the open sky. It also turned the rear glass into a hatch, which is an interesting configuration given the engine is in the rear too. Now that we are well over a decade into the glass roof Targa cars, many are shying away when purchasing these. Why? Well, the sliding glass roof is a precision instrument to say the least, and those precision instrument break and cost precision instrument money to repair. Seriously, if your power Targa roof stops functioning, you are looking at some invasive procedures by specialists who you should be happy are willing to do the job.

Still, while not fun to maybe buy, they are very fun to look at. Especially when one has 4,600 miles, is finished in paint-to-sample Atlantis Metallic, and even has even rarer Magnolia leather. Get ready to exchange your pile of dollars for some old fashion pounds, because if you want this one, a trip to Nottinghamshire, England is in order.
