1993 Porsche 928 GTS

I hope I have the longevity of the Porsche 928. This is a car that ran from 1977 all the way to 1995 with basically the same formula, same body shell, and roughly the same M28 V8 in varying displacements. Much like all of us, the early years were a slim and simple body but slowly morphed into a larger and more comfortable shape until the end of production in 1995. To top it all off, the GTS debuted with a giant price tag but also the power to back it up – 345 horsepower, to be exact. It also had some cool bodywork and the also-great 17″ Cup wheels. Only 406 examples made it to the US in a mix of automatic and five-speed manual gearboxes, and you can guess which is the more desirable one to buy today.

This 1993 928 GTS up for sale in California is no lost cause in need of attention. No, this one is fully sorted and comes with just under 44,000 miles. The price? Well, you can probably guess…

1998 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG

Just one time I’d love to get the full story on how these crazy low-production cars actually ended up getting built. Did the board member in charge of production planning buzz off to St. Moritz for three weeks and the guys on the production line throw together some leftover parts until he got back? Then again, these are the Germans here. Nothing is done without a meeting, another meeting, a planning session, a meeting about the planning session, and then a very precise schedule about production but not before having a safety meeting. There is a method to this madness, and madness is what we got with today’s car.

This is 1998 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG. Reportedly there were 59 of these cars produced, which were the then-W202 C-Class AMG but with the 5.4-liter M113 from the E55. Why only 59? Who knows. Although this one has something different about it that you can see through the windshield. It is in fact one of the very few right-hand-drive examples for the UK.

1978 Mercedes-Benz 350SE

Another week, another case of “I would pay to know the story behind this one“!

What we are checking out today is a 1978 Mercedes-Benz 350SE up for sale in Italy with a four-speed manual transmission. That alone is good enough. However, this one also has armored body panels, bulletproof glass, anti-burglary tire valves (?), a PA system, and a fire suppression system! I try really hard not to stereotype, but my goodness this was the owner of this car doing that required all of this?

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG Brabus B63S Widestar

It’s always fun to look at those crazy fast SUV from Mercedes-AMGs past and given they’ve been pumping them out for over 20 years now, there are quite a few. However, when you happen to see one for sale that is tuned by the madmen over at Brabus, you take an extra close look. That is what I thought was going on with this 2012 ML63 AMG with the B63S Widestar kit. Someone spent a pile of money to tack on the extra bodywork and paint it, no matter how you feel about its looks. However, I was quite surprised when I looked under the hood.

1998 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Wagon

When it comes to the old rule of Mercedes-Benz wagons are worth significantly more than their sedan counterparts, the AMG models are no exception. It is basically having your cake and eating it too, only this cake is really rare and extremely hard to find given they didn’t make many at all. Today’s car is a currently forbidden fruit as it isn’t 25-years-old yet, but the clock is ticking fast and it will be legal in no time. Say hello 1998 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Wagon.
