Few cars – and I don’t say this lightly – have been as iconic in the past 20 years as the BMW E36/8 M Coupe. Designed to add a bit more rigidity to the Z3 chassis and hone the package for enthusiasts, these were relatively rare BMWs. Just under 500 examples were produced for North America in the popular shade of Estoril Blue, which is what we see here on this example for sale in Miami. With just over 50,000 miles, this is a chance to snap up a clean one. Each time I see one of these Clown Shoes, the term “Ring Tool” comes to mind.

An Excellent example of the highly sought after 2000 BMW M Coupe finished in its original factory Estoril Blue over solid black leather. This 2 owner M Coupe has been very well cared for by a BMW collector/enthusiast and it shows. It has never been involved in any accidents and a perfectly clean Carfax report is available upon request. It was recently serviced and needs nothing. All power features including ice cold A/C, windows, sunroof, seats and mirrors are working perfectly as well.
The original factory paint has a deep mirror like showroom shine with only minor stone chips present. A couple minor dings were removed by a dent doctor and are now barely visible. The original wheels are in very good original condition with some light curb rash visible on them. Michelin Pilot Sport tires are around 75% in the front and 50% in rear.
The interior is like new showing virtually no wear on the original leather seats, carpets, door panels, center console, shift knob and dash. The solid black interior as opposed to the two tone blue and black is much nicer in my opinion. It was never smoked in as well.

Along with air-cooled 911s and the BMW E30 M3, it seems there’s a steady demand for the M Coupe. Rarity always helps the cause for popularity amongst collectors. Add in a two-seat layout and rigid, well balanced chassis and you have the recipe for one serious track tool. Sure, this doesn’t have the higher horsepower S54, but the S52 is more than capable with 240 horsepower. We saw an Estoril Blue 1999 M Coupe with 90k miles sell for $16,500 at the end of 2013. Given more than a year has passed and we’re dealing with a lower mileage example here, the price isn’t terribly out of line, if maybe a tad high. If you could snag one like this in the low $20k range, it would be a decent buy.

I find this one mostly desirable due to the lack of blue inserts in the seats and doors 😀

@Dan as do I…that fact is what makes this coupe` even more unique….most have the two-tone interior which I just don’t care for…..these def. have their cult following….they are great track cars, very balanced….yeah the S54 is more desirable…but will add more cost..enough that you could certainly tweak this motor with a Turner Stage III kit
