I don’t like to overstate my preferences for the cars I feature and it’s always hard for me to keep track of what’s best given that I come across so many interesting cars. But this one is just stunning. This might be the best (at the very least one of the best) shades of blue I’ve seen on a 911. It’s said to be both paint-to-sample and Iris Blue. It’s certainly possible for both of those things to be true, but I’m fairly certain Iris Blue was an available color in ’86 which suggests it wouldn’t be paint to sample. Iris Blue is a great color regardless and if that’s what this is then it looks particularly good here. The pictures appear to have been touched up some so perhaps that enhanced contrast is working to great effect.

It isn’t just the exterior color that looks great on this 911. The interior too looks in really nice condition and the dark blue contrasts really well with the lighter blue exterior. And we still must add that it only has 21,676 miles on it. All together this one has just about everything going for it and I think the only negative would be those low miles. The premium attached to them will inhibit most from adding too many additional miles so you’re left with a beautiful garage queen. The picture of the CoA we’re shown I’m fairly certain is for the wrong car. It’s tough to read, but the VIN clearly doesn’t match the VIN of the ad and it is the VIN of an 1987 930 anyway. The VIN in the ad would be correct for a 1986 3.2 Carrera Coupe. That CoA issue will need to be cleared up, assuming that it’s available, and my hope is it’s just an honest mistake. Otherwise, this 911 is lovely. Current bidding has it up to $48,090 and the reserve remains unmet. Given asking prices I’ve seen lately I would suspect the reserve here will lie above $60K at least so we’ve still got a decent way to go before we’ll see a sale. With the 911 market slowing down I don’t know if it’ll get there, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Pretty! To me it looks like the left rear quarter may have been resprayed. The drivers door doesn’t seam to match the rear panel. Or maybe it’s just the trippy Instagram filter.
