1990 Audi Coupe Quattro

There were a lot of reasons to be skeptical about the most recent B3 Coupe Quattro I posted:

1990 Audi Coupe Quattro

In fairness, though, they were nice cars and quite competent, and though they’re not my personal favorite Audi, they have quite a few fans for a good reason. I felt we needed to resurrect our respect for the model, and wouldn’t you know that a worthy example turned up right away?

This is an Audi to get excited about! The same vehicle sold for $19,900 on Bring A Trailer this year! What’s the difference? This one is much nicer!

This 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro is a TRUE 1 OWNER & ACCIDENT FREE vehicle and has spent its life garage kept only to be used during the summer season. The car is finished in the highly desired and most collectible Pearlescent White Clearcoat Metallic over Gray leather upholstery, and power comes from a 2.3-liter inline-five paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and Quattro all-wheel drive. The Pearlescent White Clearcoat Metallic paint, unlike the other colors from the manufacturer, was a very expensive factory option.

Additional equipment includes a locking rear differential, 15″ Speedline wheels, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a factory cassette stereo. EVERY SINGLE POWER OPTION INCLUDING THE POWER SEATRS AND POWER MIRRORS WORK PERFECT! This B3 Coupe Quattro shows 127k miles and is proudly offered by St. Croix Classics with the owners manual, an impeccable Carfax report, and a clean and clear Minnesota title.

The body is finished in Pearlescent White Clearcoat Metallic and features a rear hatch spoiler, a Quattro-script rear window defroster, a tilting sunroof, a rear wiper, and power-adjustable mirrors. There is not a single dent in this car. There is not a single crack in the rear tail lights or headlights. There is not a single chip in the original windshield(good luck finding a windshield). There are no cracks in the fog lights/lens. The original Audi emblems are on both sides of the vehicle.

Silver-finished 15″ Speedline wheels wear Audi center caps and are wrapped with like new Goodyear Eagle Tires. There is some minor corrosion on the factory Speedline wheels, and a spare wheel and tire are stored in the trunk.

The interior features seats and door panel inserts trimmed in Graphite leather, while Zebrano wood accents the dashboard, center console, and doors. Additional appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and power-adjustable heated front seats with driver-seat memory settings. The shift knob and seats show little to no wear! Let us make this perfectly clear, everything works! Everything.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 127k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.

The 2.3-liter 7A 20-valve inline-five sends power to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a manually locking rear differential.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage history. Clean title.

Please ask any and all questions. If you would like to come view the car in person, please do! You will not be disappointed! This is a low production import that is totally original, unmolested, and likely one of the cleaner ones available for purchase in the entire country!

Effectively, though they started as the “same” car, the two I’ve looked at recently are very much not the same car today. This car gleams and is in great condition both inside and out. It wears it’s original Speedline wheels, which are understandably worn but still look good. The seller borrowed some language from Bring a Trailer’s description, but it really does appear to be a good example and unlike the last one, everything is claimed to work.

So it should come as no surprise that bidding has been active on this one, and at time of writing it’s already at $14,000. In my last post, I said find a good one if you like these cars. This appears to be a solid candidate for sure.

There’s probably under 20 of these in North America in this condition. Looks wonderful!
