I’ll admit the market for a 964 3.3 Turbo perplexes me. At times they seem somewhat undervalued relative to the 930 that they replaced considering they feature nearly the same running gear, though with a redesigned body, and overall there are fewer of them given the much shorter model run. Much of this comparison only applies to the ’89 930 and the difference in value between an ’89 930 and a 964 3.3 Turbo comes down to the collector status of the ’89 as it’s the only year the 930 came equipped with a 5-speed manual. Yet, these 964 Turbos can be had for far less money than a comparable 993, which lately appear to have been catapulted into the stratosphere. I have long wondered how the relative markets of the 993 and 964 would play out. The 993 is the last of the air-cooled Turbos, yes, but the 964 is considered by many to be the last of the brawny, diabolical, Turbos since it remained purely in single-turbocharged rear-drive form while the 993 smoothed so many of the Turbo’s rough edges with its more sophisticated twin-turbocharging and all-wheel drive. Maybe it is only the 964 3.6 Turbo and Turbo S that will see enhanced values from these features, but overall it seems, at least for now, that the 964 3.3 Turbos might be flying a little under the radar.

1991 Porsche 911 Turbo
Only 37k miles
Beautiful inside and outThe Toy Barn is thrilled to offer this amazing 1991 Porsche 911 (964) Turbo, finished in classic Guards Red over black leather interior. This example has only 37k original miles, and is a new addition to our Porsche inventory here at the Toy Barn. If you’ve been on the search for that special air-cooled Turbo, this is a fantastic example for sure.
History: The 964 Turbo only existed for 3 model years: 91, 92, and 93. Production availability for the US market was limited to under 1300 total across the 3-year span, making it one of the rarest platforms ever to be found in the realm of the 911 Turbo. This car also represented the most modern derivative of the rear-drive “old-school” air cooled Turbo, formerly known as the 930. The updates for the 964 were extensive yet subtle, making 315hp and rocketing the car to 60 in only 4.4 seconds (blazing speed for 1991). As of now, the 964 Turbo is few and far between in the market, and finding a clean, low mile car has proven to be quite a task, especially as values on these cars continue to skyrocket.
Call me for more details! (740)973-7978Condition: This Porsche has glossy, beautiful paint, free of any excessive wear or damage. Check out the pictures below, it looks absolutely fantastic, and I’d be happy to give you a fully description if you’d like to give me a ring. The 17″ Cup wheels are excellent as well, and the tires have ample tread remaining. The car is certainly a head-turner, not just because of how clean it is, but also because of it’s posture. The look of the Turbo, with it’s outstretched hips and squatted stance, is exotic and classic. This certainly is NOT a car you see everyday.

Inside, this Porsche is also excellent, with ultra clean leather seats, as well as the carpet and various trim, etc. The power components work just as they should. Overall, inside and out, this Porsche is simply stunning.
We just performed the annual service on this Porsche here at our shop. The car runs strong, shifts smoothly, and is an absolute blast to drive.

So, first, I should apologize for what might be a somewhat misleading intro for this car. Because if this 964 Turbo were to sell for its asking price then they aren’t being undervalued at all! That said, I don’t think it will, nor do I think it would even come close were this Turbo on auction. And that shouldn’t be taken as a commentary on the particular state of this Turbo because it looks in very good shape and the mileage is very reasonable, I just do not think we are at a point where any but the absolute best, low-mileage, rare-color, examples are going to fetch $160K. With many auctions I come across struggling to reach $100K, we should probably figure that this low-mileage example should exceed that figure slightly, but that’s still a long way from this ask. Perhaps these will be the next air-cooled 911 to take off?
