1991 Porsche 911 Turbo

Given the longevity of the classic 911 it seems somewhat odd how quickly both the 964 and also the 993 departed from the scene. The combined life span of the two models failed even to reach a decade. For the 964 especially, that relatively short time on the market has seemed to hold down prices as buyers clamor to own the last of the air-cooled 911s, the 993. The 964 Turbo, however, holds its own stake in the “last of the breed” marketplace, being the last rear-wheel-drive 911 Turbo produced (excluding, of course, the ultra-rare GT2). First released in 1990, the 964 retained the 3.3 liter turbocharged flat-six of the 930, but with power output raised to 315 hp and delivered to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The car featured here is an Amazon Green Metallic 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo, located in Colorado, that has seen just north of 80K miles.

This is an extremely subtle shade in pictures and I imagine the color will pop quite a bit more when seen in person and especially in sunlight. Otherwise, aside from a few blemishes noted by the seller, this 964 looks in good shape and the Savannah Beige interior contrasts very well with the exterior color. With that said, the mileage isn’t super low so I do not think this car has much chance of hitting its asking price as we’ve seen 964 Turbos in similar condition fail to sell at prices quite a bit lower than this one.

    Thanks Rob! been looking for a 964 Turbo….and this one ain’t it…LOL
    beautiful color combo though….
someone needs to tell the dealer that the “Last of the Breed” was built in 1992 of these Turbo I cars…and 1994 saw the really more desirable 3.6 Turbos…
no mention of service records and for 75k get the cracked dash fixed Mr. Dealer.

This was my car, sold it through Pelican last month. It really is a nice car, but had some cosmetic flaws (collector cars are hitting $125k, so it was priced appropriately). I included a decent amount of service records in the sale, but no sight of them in the ad. If you’d like more info…post in the 964 Turbo section of Rennlist, I’m happy to talk much more.

Can’t say I’m a fan of that color…. The inside looks okay, but the outside is just a bit weird. It’s just kind of a nothing color. If it was green, blue, or grey it would be okay. All three mixed together is not ideal.

Thanks for the updates guys! Always good to know some of the history of any of these cars.

@MDriver: check back on Thursday afternoon. We should have a 964 featured that is a bit more interesting!
