Short $50,000 or more? Join the club there, as well. But let’s say you just really like the look of the M5 Touring, and don’t care about its fantastic (and expensive) S38 motor or all the special hand-built details. Well, today’s car might be for you. Presented in Cashmere Beige Metallic, this 525i Touring has the look of its bad-boy brother with a set of fantastic M Parallels mounted up. Like Andrew said the other day in his E320 wagon post, it’s amazing what a set of wheels can do.

What made Andrew’s wagon work was fastidious ownership and presentation, lower mileage, and a great set of wheels. Here we know a lot less about the car’s history, it’s got much higher mileage, and it’s a lot more expensive. On the positive side, it’s quite clean for the higher mileage and appears to have spent its time in North Carolina, which hopefully decreases the likelihood that it’s crusty underneath. Still, though it’s less than half the price of most M5 Tourings, I’d think this car would be a lot more compelling if the asking price were half of what it is.

I love the front end look on this one plus the color and wheels but no go on the A/T in a small displacement engine for me.
I love the M5 look but 189 hp for a 3700 lb wagon is ridiculously underpowered. If it looks like an M5 you need to at least do an S52 swap.
