I’m not exactly breaking any news here, but we are 25-years deep and then some on the 993 Porsche 911 chassis and it is aging extremely well. All the way from the base Carrera 2 up to the Turbo S and GT models, the models are desired and are probably going to stay that way. Naturally any starting point when dipping your toe in the 993 world is the Carrera 2 as it offers all the purity of the rear-wheel drive air-cooled 911 without spending over $100,000. This example up for sale in North Carolina is exactly that.

If this is your entry 993, not a bad place to start at all. Black over black leather with the 18″ Turbo Twist wheels. Done. Maybe it’s just the photos, but the car looks great standing still. This one just turned 100,000 miles that maybe gives me a slight pause given some like to do a top end rebuild around this time and it might even be warranted give the history of the M64. Not a perfect car by any means as it looks like the shift knob is rather worn, but for 100,000 miles, I find it hard to complain about.
The asking of $68,000 seems a little high to me given what we’ve seen similar cars with less miles for in the past. I think it is in the ballpark, but a deep dive with a PPI and close look at the service history is probably warranted with this one. If both of those check out, maybe I could see that, but right now as it sits you need a little more due diligence and probably some negotiation. Still, if you want a 993, tough to go wrong with the Carrera 2.
