This 996TT sold for $40,000 on January 28, 2022.
The words “Porsche” and “Turbo” are synonymous with “unaffordable” right now, correct? Well, not so fast.
Today we’re looking at a 996 Turbo, which for some time was the most affordable of the blown 911s. Well, “was” is the important word there, as recently several top-tier examples have flown past the $100,000 mark as if it were their 0-60 time. Today’s example bucks that trend with a $40,000 asking price, but still looks great in Polar Silver Metallic over classic black leather. You can probably guess why it’s cheap, but let’s take a look:

Well-maintained 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo finished in Polar Silver Metallic (L92M code) over black full leather interior that is in amazing shape. This Turbo is loaded with a 3.6 Liter twin turbocharged flat six, 5 speed Tiptronic AUTOMATIC. 415 stock horsepower, Clean Carfax. Minor incident reported on Autocheck for insurance to get bottom valence painted (reported twice in error). You get to save $10-15K just because of this so do not ask me to drop the price, I will not. Body is straight as an arrow, all original paint. Rare with no engine or suspension modifications. Best Porsche motors, these are the water cooled Mezger motors with no IMS issues. I have owned it for about a year, I do not have the previous service history, you need to figure out whether you are buying a Porsche or a stack of records, if that’s a deal breaker for you don’t bother me. This is an amazing machine, runs great, shifts great, no overheating, no leaks. No engine light or codes!
Options include 5-speed Automatic Transmission, Fully Loaded,6-disc CD changer, Ice Cold A/C, Sunroof, All-wheel drive, cruise control, Power seats, keyless entry, Heated Seats, Power Steering, Leather Interior Package, Rear Wiper, all-wheel drive, Turbo factory 18†OEM wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires. Rear spoiler/wing raises automatically at 75 MPH or with a push of a button. Rear spoiler works perfect, a lot of these 996’s have issues with leaks, this turbo does not. Drives and shifts excellent.
Always cared for and stored in garage. I have too many toys and not enough parking. This vehicle will not last, get it while you can, a Turbo 911 doesn’t come around at this price. NOT a penny or dollar off, sorry, $40k firm, and it will sell.
If you would like to have a PPI inspection done, you are responsible to send someone to inspect the vehicle, I will not drop off the vehicle anywhere. I am willing to assist with your shipping company in terms of meeting with shipper, etc.
PRICE IS FIRM, PLEASE DO NOT ASK!

So we have a trifecta of issues coming together to result in an affordable 911 Turbo. It’s got 100,000 miles, it’s been in an accident, and it’s a Tiptronic. Obviously with over 100,000 miles it’s showing some wear, but generally, it appears to be pretty presentable. The seller claims that everything works, but there’s no disclosed maintenance either. Still – this is a 400 horsepower 911 Turbo with an affordable asking price. If you want a driver example that you can just go whoosh in for a while, this seems to fit the bill.

Seems like a fair price for a 100k mile tiptronic turbo. Polar Silver over black is my favorite 996 color combination, but the transmission is a deal breaker for me. Also the 2001 turbos are based on the 996.1 so they lack the structural enhancements of the 2002-2005 turbos (the 996.2). It is noticeable as my previous high mile 2001 turbo was creaky. The seller’s description has me thinking he is going to be difficult to deal with so even if I was interested I would probably pass.
