2016 Porsche Macan S

Last month Porsche announced a facelift to the current generation Macan that introduced some minor visual tweaks, some changes to the interior, and a power upgraded across all the engines. The most noticeable change was with the front fascia, which lets just say has resulted in mixed reviews. Still, the Macan is the butter on the bread of the Porsche lineup, as consumers love their mid-size crossovers even more than the Cayenne. Still, these are “buy, drive, and repeat every three years” kind of vehicles. No one is going to be nostalgic for a used Macan S that someone leased to drive to their cubical everyday, but that doesn’t mean people still don’t want them today. This particular 2016 Macan S up for sale down in Florida isn’t your normal lease-spec, and you are certainly reminded that when opening the doors to see what is inside.

Exterior

Easily a 9 out of 10. It only has one ding, and the headlights have slight aging from the sun. The
Sapphire blue metallic is very nice. The wheels are in great shape. Plenty of tread, new front tires
less than 500 miles ago.
Drivetrain:

It has been maintained by the same dealer since new. It has all service records, the last service
was less than 30 miles ago, the engine had a complete reseal as per the dealer’s recommendation.
The underside is very clean. The “S” model produces 340hp via a 3.0l twin-turbo v6. Transmission
shifts quickly. Overall a very fun and comfortable SUV.
Key Facts:

-One owner
-Clean Carfax
-Full service records

Well, this color combo will certainly wake you up in the morning. Sapphire Blue Metallic over a Garnet Red leather interior isn’t how most Macans were ordered, by any means. In a world of earth tones and a coin-flip of whether an interior will be black or tan, this is what gets me going. Personally I love it and think it is awesome that Porsche gives us this kind of stuff even on the Macan, but I suppose if people keep buying it, they’ll keep making it. As with all of these twin-turbo first-generation Macans, I need to warn you of the oil leaks that develop on the front timing covers that require pulling the engine to fix, so please do not buy one of these without doing a deep inspection. A quick parking lot walk-around and drive up and won the street isn’t enough for these, especially considering the cost.

Yes, this one is $48,000, but I think that mostly has to do with it only having 8,500 miles. That’s a huge selling point for someone, but again, this is not going to be a car you garage queen and take out on Sunday evenings. This is daily driver status on everyday that ends with the letter Y. I think if you are really in love with the color combo then this is the one to go for, but if you just want to zip around in a Macan, better deals can be had.

I like red. Learned to drive in my father’s 65 red Mustang ( black vinyl interior). Own a lipstick red Macan GTS with black interior. Friend has a white Turbo with red interior that is very nice. I also have 2013 Boxster with dark brown body, top, and interior ( not everybody’s cup of coffee) so I am willing to be different. This Macan just seems to have no visual aesthetic with a bold exterior and a bold interior that do not compliment each other. Love this site. Starts my day.

The need for an engine resealing at 8400 miles seems a bit scary.
