2020 Mercedes-AMG E63 S

Ever since the early 1990s, Mercedes-Benz has produced an E-Class that can punch above its weight class. Cool to think about in the grand scheme of things seeing as it is capable as a seven-day a week daily driver, but also a supercar in disguise that can get you to 60 mph in the low three second range. Add in a really nice interior and industry-standard tech like some automatous driving aids, and it is tough to argue against. That is no different with the current generation W213 and it sure seems like that won’t be changing, even with sedans fading away and SUV-type vehicles being the choice of the masses.

Today, I have a 2020 E63 S up for sale in Chicago that you might of noticed is not in the typical black/silver/grey/white. This is actually China Blue and was special order as part of Mercedes’ Designo Manufaktur program that will let you put a custom color for $7,500. This was previously limited to just the G-Glass, but now is available on the E-Class, S-Class, and AMG GT. Mercedes must have been jealous of all the Paint to Sample cars running around across town and decided they would too like to make a bunch of money from owners who need to be different.

Even with the expensive $7,500 color, they didn’t skim on the other options. Another $16,000 in goodies were thrown in, including $2,300 for the driver assistance package that is worth every penny. Personally, I love the China Blue and glad people are buying cars in colors like this. Would it be my first choice? Maybe not, but for the right price I wouldn’t scoff at it.

However, the price right now is $116,000. This is a discount over sticker and most of that is because it has 4,300 miles. If you really love China Blue, then this is your car. Just don’t be surprised if it is worth $70,000 in three years.

Love the color, but that interior looks like a 1995 stretch limo with the silly purple lighting. Hopefully that can be changed to a less Miami Vice nightclub look.

Cool color for a Porsche or Lamborghini but a bit garish for a mid size sedan.

That is a gorgeous colour! Too bad about the black interior though. Would look so much better with beige or a sand color.

Great color!…I agree a lighter color interior would have been a better choice. I have been in that showroom. I believe it is adjacent to Iron Gate Motor Condos…all of their vehicles seemed a bit pricey to me at the time. On these cars, depreciation is your friend.

This is a masterpiece compared to the horrendous M8 grancoupe showcasing here as well.

I love the china blue color. Interior is average looking. I agree beige/ silverstone or even caramel would have popped!
